How to Install Custom Maps & Clean Your Database
By Caroline Middlebrook
I have recorded a video showing exactly how to install the maps in this section of forum, and how to fix the problem of the server 'hanging' with some maps. I also show how to clean up your database so you can get a truly fresh new start on your chosen map.

I used this guide to install a custom map. and it worked fine. Then I decided to try another, but I cannot connect to the 2nd map. It always gives me "invalid server password" no matter what I enter for the password. However, I can still use the first map I set up. Any ideas?

Hello caroline. Thank you so much for that video. It has been very helpful. However I have run into another issue that I have not been able to resolve. I downloaded the wyvern server map when they shut it down. It keeps hanging up but there is no map actions file, so I can't do the work-around described in your video. I ran the rebuild batch file, and i was able to start the server after that, but if course everything was reset...toons erased, no buildings, etc. It's there another work around? Or is there a way to create an action file from a map in its current state so that it can be edited?

The difference being that you recreated the mall in the wurm folder then? I'll have to try it out! Thank you

The one I used in the video is 2048, but I also used the same technique for a 1024 sized one I made and that also worked fine.

Great job, mate! What size is your map? I found that even clearing the database, map size of x1024 does not work but others have made it work
