Erasmuspoort -Z- (European)

I wanted to make a region that has the properties of my Rotterdam map, but with less complex waterways. The Erasmuspoort landscape is therefore heavily inspired by coast of the South-Holland povince, but I added a bit more definition to the otherwise completely flat area. I've spend a lot of time shaping the dunes and the farmland, so many of the trees you see are handplaced.

Infrastructure
The region has four highways entering from all sides, and three railway lines. The starting area sits right between two incoming highways to the north and two to the east, to make traffic a bit balanced. The wide river coming from the east has a ship route on it, as have the islands and the coastline. Since the starting area is very flat and very clean, there should be plenty of options for building an airport.

Water
The map has one main, fastflowing river that has a sidearm that splits the waterflow. There are several canals and other rivers, but these don't have ship access. I've made a few lakes behind the dunes, which are perfect for water pumps or a tourist location. I've put emphasis on fast water flow, so sewage can be easily disposed of. There is another lake more inland between the hills.

Resources
There are many resources scattered throughout the farmland, which I've placed for aesthetics purposes. There are a few natural spots of ore and oil. There is a lot of forest and trees (248k), but much of it is spend on the treelines on the farmland. There is a reasonable forest near the starting area suitable for timber industry.

The map is named after the Dutch philosopher Desiderius Erasmus. His essay Praise of Folly is a great read considering the age it was written and I think that it is fitting to name my South-Holland map after him.
