Bleed and Toxic do not seem to reduce the damage any more.
Heavy barrel with no mods damage = 87
Heavy barrel + splitting = 61
Heavy barrel + bleeding = 87
Heavy barrel + toxic = 87-ish?
Heavy barrel + tranq = 87
Goblin: 180HP = 10 stabs * 18dmg.
Welder: 8dmg.
Shark that took 10 shots to kill (regular barrel) needed 5 shots with heavy barrel (or 4 + 1 knife slash) to die; shark that took 8 shots to kill without needed 4 (or 3 + 1 knife slash).
All damage done to the front of the sharks, no ammo modifiers.
With heavy barrel and splitting rounds it's +1 bullet -> 10/5/6 and 8/4/5 respectively. Sharks went from helpful to unhelpful between third and last safe and started chewing on me ( passive bots!) so I couldn't do more - didn't try the knife.
Hope that helps a bit before official numbers arrive.
