ah thanks. I'm sure there is a variation of it somewhere, because on promod servers if teams are playing 1v1 or 2v2, then other players joining the match are automatically put into spectate slots. I've joined into spectate slots on penpen hardalways servers (e.g. 1 , 2 ), while two people were playing on the survivor side (without bots) as well.

This one sweet was local hosting, so he just kicked from console, and with my clan's L4D2 servers running sourcemod we use sm_kick to get rid of the bots. I don't know if there's any plugin out there that allows you to set a number of spectators and reserve the rest for players, although that would be pretty convenient.

Do you use a plugin where two players can play like that without bots, or did you kick bots before starting the round?

I've aways done the later, but it would be nice for people to be able to join and automatically load into the "spectate" slots without it messing up the survivors.
