New CroNix Players Guide! - Read this to get a headstart!
By TheHarmassist and 1 collaborators
There are too many players coming and going from CroNix because of the "steep" learning curve that they aren't used to, as well as just not being used to the game in general. If you want to know what to expect when playing, want a headstart on what to learn, or are just interested in this game - Read this.

Introduction

So here you are, new(or experienced) CroNix player and have no clue where to start, or perhaps you're returning to finally understand this game. Chances are if you're new, you've seen the steam reviews and how a huge portion of everything is a negative review. But, there's a huge problem with 90%+ of the negative reviews sitting on this game:

Aside from some of them being outright stupid such as one person blaming the game for their bad computer, or calling a game that has no microtransactions that boost stats "pay to win", you can clearly see that the majority of negative reviewers in this game haven't even dedicated an hour to this. They play, probably lose a few games, and then leave a negative review due to the fact that they aren't the best player in the game after a few seconds in training.

So this guide is to at least help stop some of that, because, even if it is possible to find matches somewhat easily, it would be much easier if newer players would stop leaving fast because they aren't used to the game.

Onto the guide.
Game Modes

The game modes in this game are fairly simple, Brawl(Team Deathmatch), Domination, and Survival, which may be a bit complicated to explain, but I've broken it down as best as I've can. The game rules are as follows:

Brawl
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There isn't much to explain with this game mode. Your basic 3 versus 3 team deathmatch scenario, things can get pretty intense with the right team setups. There are a total of 5 rounds, so first to 3. Each team has 5 lives to spare until the round ends, and then you are able to change your character and tonics(later in the guide) midround.

Domination
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Domination is fairly simple. Three points on the map, you get points every few seconds depending on how many points you have captured. Green boxes indicated where exactly the points are on the map, and you capture the big point thing with the R key by holding it down for 5 seconds.

Survival
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This game mode is a bit complicated to explain, but easy to understand once you actually play it. There are two points on the map, indicated where I've drawn a box around the flags, each point will spawn after a set amount of time and then you bring it to the refinery to complete....bingo....? Note that as you have the flag, you will be unable to activate your space bar skill, or sprint as you will forever be in combat mode until you drop it (die) or turn it in.

The refinery is in the middle of the map, turning in a flag will fill in a random spot on the bingo board as indicated by the blue box, in the green box I've drawn, messages will appear, and with each flag you turn in, your entire team will get a random buff such as instant 50% HP restored, 20% damage for 15 seconds, etc. Getting 3 dots in a row on bingo will give your team 9 points, getting more will increase this value, making it hard to strategize when to prioritize getting the next flag to capture the points. 1 Kill also will give you 1 point. The first team to 50 wins.

Results screen
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is almost self explanitory, the only thing to explain here are the buttons in the middle. The first button will be free if you are MVP, 150 Seed(in game currency) if you are just in the match, or 50% off for 75 Seed if you have a certain amount of points by the end of the game. The second button will use one of your Kits (explained later in the guide), you get 5 kits per 24 hours, and they stack up to 35. The third slot is your Premium Kits which cost premium currency.

Basically, each one of these buttons will give you a tonic or a card at the end of a match. Constantly clicking the first button over and over will spend a lot of your seed, and I've seen (and am guilty myself) of clicking the first button and not knowing what it does, and wondering why I lose money at the end of every game. Tonics and Cards are explained later in this guide.

Items - Tonics
If you don't know what tonics are, you may be wondering: What is that at the bottom right of my screen?

Tonics are potions that have set cooldowns and can be used an unlimited amount of times in game, and they have 4 specific sets that modify a certain stat. Green for HP recovery, Red for Attack, Accuracy, or Critical, Blue for Defense and Evasion, and Yellow for Special. I'm not entirely sure what accuracy or evasion does yet. Special gives you different stats, such as movement speed, increasing your sight by a certain number of meters. Each tonic has different levels and cooldowns, depending on the rarity of the tonic itself. You can tell how rare a tonic is from its level, as well as it's description color, Grey>White>Green>Blue.

Or what a lot of people do not seem to know about, detect tonics.
More on that in a bit.

There are two ways to earn tonics in this game, one of which is at the end of a match, which you can see exactly how, previously in the guide at the end of the "Game Modes" section. The other way is to buy a tonic pack from the in game store. You can buy the very basic of tonics that are permanent, or you can buy tonic packs which are much more worth your time, but are not permanent.

These are the basic tonics that will last you forever.

These are the tonic packs and card packs that have a chance to give you a rare tonic. Albeit they are not permanent, everything you get from here will be better than the basic tonics.

To equip your tonics, there is a button at the top right of the menu called Maintenance, it looks like a "Tools" logo. Click it and you will be greeted with this screen.

These are where all of your tonics are, as well as your cards. Double click to equip them. To open your tonic/card packs, head over to the ETC tab and double click the pack. You will be asked how many you want to open, click the green circle, and you will be greeted with:

One of the most important tonics in the game is the Detect Tonic. Many people call LiuLian overpowered when there is one simple workaround to making any LiuLian seem useless in a team situation, especially when everyone on a team has a detect tonic. Changing your special tonic to detect and activating it, will show any cloaked LiuLian, like so:

Items - Cards
There are items in this game that can modify your character's skills by changing a bit of the stats of the skill itself. Maybe increase a skill's AP from 30 to 40, but also adding a blowback effect to it while also increasing damage. Or lowering a skill's AP while decreasing damage. There are actualy many different things that cards can do to a certain skill, take this example from one of my Zic cards:

Obtaining and equipping cards is the exact same process as obtaining and equipping tonics. You are able to get cards from the results screen at the end of a match and buying card packs from the in game shop. Though, that is much riskier considering you are able to get a card for any of the other characters in the game rather than the one that you actually want.

To equip it, head over to the maintenance menu (Tools looking icon in the top right of main screen) and you will see all of your cards:

Each card is assigned to its own specific button for your skills, so you know which card will modify what skill. Card rarity is determined by the level, as well as the card rank. e.g. (SkillName)-A, (SkillName)-B.

Opening the card pack is the same as opening a tonic pack, go to the ETC tab and double click the card pack, click the green circle and then you are greeted with:

Characters
This is going to be a really long section,

so, this is a work in progress.
Random Tips
When you see this flashing red and blue hexagonal pattern in front of someone, that is super armor. You won't be able to knock them down with their skill active.

You can view your profile, as well as equip your earned emblems and titles from this screen, by clicking your name in the bottom left of the main screen.

The second tab displays previous match results.

The third tab displays character stats and information.

Clicking the first button brings up information about that character's skills.

You can also bring up character skills in game by holding F1.

Skills have certain abilities if you hold shift as you initiate the command. You know you've done it correctly when you get a blue icon and sound effect after doing it. It also uses SP (Gold meter)

Zic's Dash and E punch takes 25 AP each, for a total of 50 AP. Shifting the dash makes it take gold meter instead of AP, which makes it a total of 25 AP used.

You can actually display your FPS and Ping in game through the graphics settings. It will be shown as green text at the top right of your game when you are playing on a match.

I know why now. Most of the features this user showcases arent even implemented yet. That or steam uses an outdated version of the game.

Also, my game looks nothing like the guide users does.
