Restoring original English Phoenix Wright voice lines

The latest update replaced the English voice lines for Phoenix Wright with versions recorded by the current VA with no option to toggle between the two. This guide shows you how to restore the old ones.

Open Steam Console by navigating to steam://open/console in a web browser and allowing Steam to open when prompted.

Paste this command into Steam Console to download the old game version:
download_depot 787480 787481 6847712794471749420

The files can be found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam\steamapps\content\app_787480\depot_787481\

The download path on Linux varies by distro and the method used to install Steam. Steam Console prints the file path once the download completes.

Linux users can find them at ~/.steam/debian-installation/ubuntu12_32/steamapps/content/app_787480/depot_787481/

Copy the sound folder from the old version and paste it into the corresponding game directory. Take care not to replace the game executable as this will prompt you to update to the latest version if you have any previous save games.

Since I can't edit my own comment (thanks Steam), if the link I posted before does not work, you may have to copy the URL and then paste it into your web browser. Steam seems to mess up dropbox links, sorry about that

Good catch. I've only ever used the Linux client on Debian systems

~/.steam/debian-installation is specific to the Debian distro package of steam-installer.

In general you'll find it in $XDG_DATA_HOME/Steam, ~/.local/share/Steam, or ~/.steam/steam
