My safest way to get Steel Souls / Heart 100% achievement.

Question: Why do you choose my guide when you can use other guides or speedrunner guides?

Answer: I am not a speedrunner with 2000k hrs on the game so how I'm playing it is as safe as possible. There are other better guides out there with more accurate guides / routes / tech but I hope this guide serves as some sort of purpose. If not, well... at least its something I guess.

Also, 5 things I would mention. This is on version patch 1.0.28891. Saying this because some of the tech might be obsolete later on

1) Its "MY SAFEST" way to play the game. What I would try to do is avoid as much possible danger until unavoidable but if you feel brave enough or think that my route / decisions are bad, you are free to diverge from the route.

2) The hardest part about this game is getting to Act 2. Act 1 is really hard and you might take maybe 8-20 times to get to it. Also some guides wants to do both the speedrun under 5hrs + finishing Steel Mode in 1 go but I'm a pleb so I rather not risk it.

3) Once you get to Act 2 and finishing Cog Dancers ( it allows to open up and get an additional mask ), things becomes a bit easier and safer as you can obtain more Mask Shard.

4) Google the Silksong map and plan your route. You wont remember anything anyway.

5) Some people will argue that "Uhhh actually you arent playing right if you save quit out. You are cheating". My respond is "No one wants to collect something and run all the way back to the bench. Do you think its logical to, let say go to Mount Fay, collect the mask shard and then run all the way back to The Slab? ".

What is the goal here? The goal is to get into ACT 2 FIRST with 6 HP + Fracture Mask + Straight Pin + Warding Bell / Druid Eye + Flea Brew " . You could get Magnetite Dice BUT money will be an issue and if you bench before Act 2, then it would be a waste of time. However there are YT video showing how to win the dice game though. Also the goal in Act 1 is to avoid Moorwing and Sister Spliter and take Phantom instead

Once Act 2 happens, the goal from that point on is to get Blue Blood + Double Jump & Get it 8-9 Mask Shards.

Welcome to Moss Grotto & Suffering
Welcome to Steel Mode where you have 5HP and playing recklessly = death = -3 to 7hrs....

I........ tried this 5-7 times and everytime Hornet dies, I rage uninstall the game and play another game... until I got nothing else to play so I reinstall it back again........

The cycle of pain and torture lol.

Also NGL, until you have the running / dash capability, the first 1-2 hrs is really really ass. With that being said, you might want to take into consideration that jump dash pogo trick to cut time....

Anyway lets begin with the beginning... Moss Grotto. Do your usual route BUT pick up the 2 moss berries on the way. These 2

Why do we pick this up? Because its the very first blue charm that gets you from Bone Marrow till Magma Bell ( only helps in lava situation ) / Warding Bell ( I prefer getting a silk from a hit to a heal rather than protection that you lose everything if you get hit ).

Once you are done with the boss and Moss Grotto , head up Bone Bottom
Bone Btm + Marrow
Congratz on reaching Bone Bottom + Bone Marrow.

Here is the route you want to take:

This is the normal route for 99% of players. You go to A to pick up the Shard Pendant. Go to Mosshome, collect skill + druid eyes, then back to Bone Marrow, fight Bell Beast, pick up the flea and then collect the free craftmetal, pick up straight pins ( very important ) and then go to Deep Docks.

Things to note:

Q: Why collect Shard Pendant?

A: Because you need 25 tools to get the Architect Crest so this tool is on the way.

Q: Why Druid Eyes?

A: I mention before but you can either pick Druid Eye or Warding Bell but again, personally I rather have the capability of getting hit to heal vs protection of not getting hit but I lose heal + silk.

Q: Why is picking up Straight Pins important?

1) You are going to have a surplus of shards so you might as well make used of it

2) For whatever reason, straight pins does quite decent damage. According to the wiki: it is 5/8/11/14/17. To add on, if you get the Forge Daughter upgrade, that goes from 5-8 which in Act 1 is pretty good. The other choices you have are curveclaw / stinging shard / 3 fold pins? / longpin before fighting Widow. Curveclaw damage is 8/10/12/14/16 but needs positioning to do decent damage, stinging shard needs the boss to stay stationary, 3 fold pins uhh damage is weird and longpin does the same damage to straight pins but shorter + penetrate.

MossHome
Not much to do here. Its very simple here.

Enter Mosshome, go down, open elavator but go right, collect spool fragment, go up, open bench, go back into Mosshome, collect skill, collect last moss berry, collect druid eye, go back to Bone Marrow.

3rd Mossberry Location:

Becareful of this f**k... I actually lost a run to this

Bell Beast
Bell Beast has 3 attack move set and its easy to distinguish which one he is about to do:

In the beginning, he only does 2 attacks. Either a jump over or a run down from 1 side to another.

If you see rumbling on the side, its a run down from side to side. You can play safe and pogo for 1 time.

If you see rumbling BUT HE ROARS then its a jump attack. Jump slightly and hit it above and hit twice when he lands. Dont need to be greedy.

The last attack is he roars middle and drop bells. You could sneak a hit in but if you get hit by the bell, its -2 HP.

Just play safe. In my entire run, I lost to him once. Below is what happened....

Deep Docks
Congratz on beating Bell Beast!!! I'm assuming you took the route that I placed earlier in Bone Marrow so now you are in Deep Docks. Dont forget your craftmetal earlier on because you are going to buy the Magma Bell with it.

This will be your route:

As you enter Deep Dock, if you have spare money, you can open up the bench top. If not, prioritize opening the train ( if you are low on health, you can always train to a safe spot like Bone Marrow or something for a bench ). Once you are full health, go to your left of the train and collect that flea at A.

Then go take the elevator top and proceed with the yellow route. You will have to fight a simple arena of red ants. If any problems, throw straight pins. Once you are done, go to B and collect the dashing skill ( FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! ).

After getting it, dash left and collect the flea at C. You should have 3 Fleas now ( 1 Bone Marrow, 2 Here ).

Go down the elevator and proceed to fight arena of Deep Docks mobster. Once you are done, go up and open the door + bench. Go to the forge daughter and buy " Magma Bell + Tool Upgrade " ( if you have to choose because of money, go Magma Bell. It will help in Far Fields later.

Once you open the bench, you can go to the blue route and get the 2nd Spool Fragment, opening up an additional silk. Once that is done, fight Lace. I hope you know how to fight Lace lol

If not, general rule of thumb is, hit once or twice and whenever she attacks or counter, just jump. You should not have any problems BUT I did lost a run to her soooo yea. Also all her attacks does 1 damage BUT her white circle sphere smash down does 2 damage. Make sure when you heal, you heal FAR away from her, i.e you RUN AWAY AND JUMP AND HEAL.

Far Fields
Congratz on beating Lace!

Here is your route:

Start from Red Route A. Go right until you reach Shakra. Buy a map if you wish, if not, you can go btm left and collect Warding Bell ( the other blue option choice ).

Then follow orange route, aka, go to the Seamstress to get the quest for your Drifter Cloak.

Follow yellow route to farm for spines. You can blow up the right side, enter it and return to respawn the mobster. Once you get all 25, take the green route.

Blue Route = go back to Seamstress, get cloak, then collect your first Mask Shard. Once you collect it, go back to your Seamstress and put in your Magma Bell.

Now errr... there is a way to skip the 4th Chorus Boss. I believe you hard to run, jump and float? and then heal and float dash mid air to reach the other side. IF YOU CAN DO IT, BY ALL MEANS DO IT but I didnt take that chance and just defeat the boss. For someone like me who lost runs to a pleb mobster and Bell Beast, I dont believe I recall losing a run to the 4th Chorus boss because well, he only does 3 moves.

He has his swipe, his slam on ground to destroy platform and bang the ceiling move so unless you dont have your Magma bell, you should be getting hit for 1 damage for lava and yea. Also you need to open that space up for Savage Beastfly later for a Mask Shard anyway.

Once you are done with the boss, follow the pink route.

Pink route is: Open train station, go to Pilgrim Rest, if you need to get the upgrade tool / memory locket there, get it and destroy his stupid gate

open the top part to open the ventilation part and then go back down and go to G to get the last 2nd Flea. Then proceed to Hunter March.

Hunter March
Why Hunter March?

Because apparently opening Greymoor will not let Sharka appear in the arena fight. Ofc you could do it yourself but with 5 HP, its kinda risky.

Your route is as simple as possible. Go up, collect your last 5th Flea, proceed going right, avoid enemies and once you enter the arena, Skahra should appear after defeating the first mob in the arena. Your job is to hit as little as possible and avoid as much as possible. Heal whenever you are 2-3 HP down.

Once thats done, proceed to go right and then use the bench if necessary ( dont forget to remove the trap on the left side ). Then go up and go to the merchant to collect your 100% needed Fractured Mask ( and if possible the curveclaw ). That way, you never have to return here again until Act 3 lol. Equip your Fractured Mask and never remove it. Thats your go-to safe fail in case you got 2 HP and a boss hits you for 2HP, you still be alive

Go down and collect the next memory locket on the right side. Once you get it, go back down to Deep Docks.
Bone Bottom Part 2
Once you arrive here by train from Deep Docks, you are just doing 3 things,

Get the 2 Mask Shards + Magnetite Brooch if you need.

You should have at least one memory locket open from either Hunter March / Pilgrim Rest. You can either open one blue or one yellow but that doesnt matter. Why? If you havent gotten the Pilgrim Rest Memory Locket, then you open the Yellow slot so that you can use Magnetite Brooch to get more money for Pilgrim Rest. If you have the Pilgrim Rest memory locket, then you should have 2 by then and if not, then open blue first and then collect your yellow memory locket at Hunter March.

In any case, you want to get the Mask Shard from the vendor & the Wormways. You should have 3 mask by now.

Take the train back to Far Field ( and if you havent gotten the Memory Locket here, go back to the Pilgrim Rest and get it ) and open up Greymoor~
Greymoor
Nothing much here tbh. Because you fall back from Far Fields to get to Hunter March ( + you need Shakra for the arena ), you havent open up the ceiling to Greymoor so take the train from Bone Bottom to Far Field and open up. Then proceed the small route as follow:

Follow the red route, collect the free relic and then go into the bar.

Then follow the yellow route to open the train and collect the free memory locket. There is a huge rat bug so either throw pins or just kite it. You should have now open all 3 memory locket for your Reaper Crest.

Now the choice is up to you. You can either take the train back to Bone Marrow OR take the orange route, get some gold, open the gate for easier access, open the fan blade shortcut and then back to train station. The goal anyway is to go back to the Fleas to remove Moorwing from the fight.

In case you didnt know, watching some YT mod, Moorwing HP pool is 600 HP.... To put it in perspective, Widow is 360, Sister Splinter is 310 so yeah, lets remove a huge HP boss fight
BellHeart & Shellwood
Now we are almost at the end game in Act 1. Shellwood will be the last place to get your final mask shard and we are skipping Sister Splinter.

Here is your route:

Take the red route and when you reach A, its going to be a mini arena battle. Once you are done, open up the bench if you want to, if not, then just open the door for the shortcut.

Once you open the door, take the orange route and get the last Mask Shard at B. If you did have all 3 Mask Shard earlier once you get this one, your HP bar will be refilled, and this is good because once you get it, the area will be filled with those flying flower mobsters. If you didnt and are in low in health.... yea good luck with that.

Once you manage to get out, I do hope you know about the "Sister Spliter" skip. If you dont know, you can YT it but generally, you challenge those flower mobster thing to a certain area and jump to skip the boss.

And once you do that, just follow the yellow route to get your climbing skill and then either go challenge Widow or open the bench and then go back to Widow~
Widow
Widow and Phantom ( Particularly Widow ) will be the hardest boss so far. If you get to practice it prior the fight, that would help a lot but then again, you dont get that luxury ( unless you somehow have a safe file of her ) and her fight when she drop the balls is very random.

One of my GG runs.

My advice for this boss is whenever he summons the balls overhead, you only attack during that. Dont try to pogo off him when he runs and summon the underground bells or hit him when he goes the overhead diagonal slash to slash forward.

When you want to heal, if Widow hasnt summon balls and is moving around to attack, wait until the attack animation ends and then heal. If she is summoning balls, wait until the 2nd wave ball drops then heal

Also when he starts his 2nd phase, he will always run immediately straight to you so becareful with that. During the 2nd phase, start throwing more tools at him 8 / 10 damage is better than trying to hit him. Hit only if you need silk to heal. Like this

The biggest question? Phantom OR Last Judge
Congratz on beating Widow and setting Bellhart free! Aside from upgrading your nail and maybe getting another Memory Locket from the vendor, we now go to Sinner's Road. If you want to know why, below is why...

Enough said.....

To make it more convincing:

1) Almost every hit from the Last Judge does 2 HP damage....

2) To go that route, it means you have to go Craw Lake, beat that arena, and then open the other bell. ( there is a skip to it by pogo-ing off 2 birds but I have no luck with that ).

3) While the drawback for Phantom is that you have to deal with The Mist & Sinner's Road, you can heavily mitigate a lot of the problems by playing it careful and as long as you open Sinner's Road bench ( yes its awful that they make you work for it ), you can always go back from The Mist to Sinner Road by dropping off the ledge and then just swim in the maggot river and then back to the bench.

4) Phantom is as slow as Lace 1. As long as you know certain key moveset from her, you shouldnt have any trouble with it. Also you have straight pins to waste here too..

5) Again, the only problem with Phantom Route is The Mist, not so much of Sinner's Road.

6) Last Judge HP is 720, Phantom is 650. Phantom is also slower and unless you get hit by her blazing white spell, all her damage only counts as a single HP hit. Not only that, you dont have to put a Magma Bell, and instead you can use the Druid's Eye / Warding Bell in its place to give you a better survivability.

I put two guides, one for Blasted Steps, the other for Sinner Road / The Mist
Blasted Steps.......
I'm assuming you are reading this because you want to take your chance with the Last Judge + you hate Sinner's Road & The Mist. Fair enough, here is a small route you can used.

Start out by doing the red route and opening bench at A. While you are platforming, open this shortcut.

That way, if you need to fall back, thats your bench. Continue to orange route and open the level to fix the elevator system in Blasted Step. If you are low in health again, go back at A. Around yellow route, there are hidden pilgrims lancers and falling rocks so becareful ( too many times I get hit by those during the Rash Courier ). If you reach at C, all is left is to go and fight the Last Judge.

Below is a sure way not to get hit at all.

1st Part

2nd Part

Sinner's Road....
Both Sinner's Road and The Mist is way more difficult than anything Blasted Step has to offer. It makes Blasted Steps a cake walk in the park but then you have to deal with a bigger health pool + damage boss.

Anyway back to Sinner's Road, take the train station from BellHart to Greymoor and "becarefu" when you exit because Moorwing might proc a boss fight. If that happen, just re-enter the train station and exit it and go up. Dont go too far to the left. Avoid Moorwing and then start your ascend to Sinner's Road while opening up the elevator to the bar. You can spend 10 rosaries to get some silk and if its Sinner's Road, you might as well make your silk full and prepare for the journey. Also you can collect that Flea if you wish so at A1 ( free silk regen I guess ).

Here is your route:

The other advice I would give is that, given you might have problems reaching the bench beforehand, I would advice that you at least open the shortcut at Orange B. That way, you dont have to do the entire platform again and if you manage to avoid all the dogs at the start, you can just run back to the bar ( or if you want, save quit out ).

Once you are ready go through the green route C to fix the stupid bench issue and becareful with the swinging spikes. Here are some vods to bypass some of the annoyance

Once you finish that part, its the Mist~

Btw those snapping "dogs", there is a way to bully them into not hitting you. You could do this if you wish but I would just run away fast. The reason is because they need to do a climbing animation ( but will hit you if you are too close to the edge ) and while its climbing, you can hit it back down. Good way to get Tacks later on

The Mist

I am not going to pretend I know the mechanics behind The Mist. All I know is 2 things. You play the Needlolin and butterflies guide you to your exit and its a bad place to be lol

There is a YT video about it:

Special thanks to Oxboxrox & Taiga for the deconstruction of the Mist. ( If I miss out anyone, pls notified me )

If you want a summary of it ( because its kinda long ), TO MY KNOWLEDGE WHICH COULD BE WRONG BECAUSE I DID SAY I DONT REALLY KNOW but basically every correct entry gives you +1 points and every wrong one resets your score to 0. Dropping to repeat the Mist score it 0 too, The goal is to get 6.

Then there is uhh this thing called Juggling but its better if you watch the video itself to understand it. But... if you dont want to watch it, just play the Needolin and find your exit route~

Whenever the Wraith sees you, make sure you are at a good solid ground and whenever it screams, jump to avoid it and hit it 2x. Hitting it 5x will despawn it.

So yeah, its one of the worse place in the entire game ( with the exception of BileWater ). This could happen....

Phantom
The 2nd last final hurdle to getting more HP ( you still have to do Cogwork Dancers to finally open up more HP ) but at least beating her means you get to see Act 2

In any case, Phantom is quite slow and has 5 movesets.

She has the stabby stabby 3 thrust

She throws her pin

She jumps and throws her pin

She counters, which can be avoided if you jump

And lastly a slam

As you can see, most of her moveset can be avoided if you just manage your movement and jump like Lace. If you need to heal, again, run the opposite of Phantom location and jump heal ( unless you are somehow unlucky she decides to use the slams moveset to your position ) but more often, its quite safe. Lastly she does 1 damage, aside from her slam so yea.

Good Luck~
Act 2!!!
FINALLY!!! After Clockwork Dancers, its *almost* free! ( almost being its wayyy harder to lose a run because with more HP ).

In any case, after beating Phantom, either go back to bench or make your way up. BE VERY CAREFUL because either going back to bench or going to the Citadel, there are spikes on your route but whichever the case, you made it to the Citadel! ( Also dont forget to pick up the free memory locket above the train station ).

Once you arrive at the GrandBellway, open the train station and proceed to go to Weavernest. Why? Because you can get a free mask shard ( its lava area so equip the Magma Bell ) + spool fragment + Eva upgrades. Once you are done, go back to the Citadel and proceed as follow:

Its a simple route, go up to SongClave, get the WHITE KEY because if you dont, that merchant will sell it to you for 200+ gold which is a total scam..., then your choice is Mask Shard for 750 gold or Ascension Grip for 350. If you dont have any money, you can collect it later, aka, after the entire Cogwork Core + Whispering Vault. The idea is that if you have the Mask Shard from Weavernest, you can get 1 here, 1 at the btm of cogwork core and lastly Whispering Vault but since you can cycle up to SongClave, its fine.

In any case, you cant do much but fight the Cogwork Dancers. Play safe and becareful as each hit is 2HP damage but they are slow enough to be dodgeable.

[Note]: They have seperate HP so focusing on 1 of them will always be better as it closes the fight faster and whenever they spam their middle AoE move, they will always return to their original position, meaning, if you are focusing the right boss and they do the AoE, that right boss will return to the original position.

Once that is done, rest up and you have 2 choice, either go CogWork Core Or WhiteWard. If you go WhiteWard, you get access to faster healing + Harpoon which harpoon will help with cogwork core btm

BUT

If you go CogWork and finish up Whispering Vault, you get a mask shard ( which should put you to +1 HP ) and some freebies like memory locket and etc. This also has 2 arena battles that you have to deal with, 1 with mask shard, the other is entering Whispering Vault.

Choice is up to you.
WhiteWard

If you chose to follow the green route, you can try to open up the elevator to shave off some time as well as get that bench ( but I recall there is an arena battle somewhere there ) but if you dont feel like it, just proceed to WhiteWard ( there is a bench there )

Also if you are brave enough, you can leave Whiteward, proceed to GrandGate and get yourself a free Spool Fragment at the see-saw and if you do, you can get another one at WhiteWard.

WhiteWard is super straight forward. Unlock elevator, go 1 whole round, push the button top and quickly go down to get the Spool Fragment, run along orange route ( skip all the mini mobster. If you want some free silk, go up to 1 of them, hit them twice and run off screen and repeat ), collect the 2nd blue charm that you will never take off, aka, Injector Bands and then just go down to Underworks.

By now, you have Injector Bands + Fractured Mask as your 2 blue charm. Once you upgrade enough from Eva and get the 3rd blue charm ( which is important as it gives you more survivability / playstyle / offset ), stick with those 2 blue charms. There is no reason to either take 1 of them off, with the exception of Lava damage so once you are at Underworks for Harpoon, you have to decide which one among those 2 to forgo. Ofc, you can just not use Magma Bell but if you are falling into lava twice, you just lost 4 HP while instead you could be losing 2 if you play safe enough.

Underworks & Harpoon

Start off resting on the bench and equip the Magma Bell and then opening the bridge so you have access to the "transport" system. I believe it cost about 80 gold?

Once you are done, head down slowly ( and if needed, destroy those robotic bugs to farm more silk. Some guides will advice you to get the flea on the left side or the craftmetal but lets be safe and ignore all that and get the Harpoon instead.

Once you get the Harpoon, get ready for an arena battle. It shouldnt be a problem. Those explosive bugs, hitting them twice will kill it so you should try to aim for that vs trying to dodge it.

Once done, head back to the bench, rest and if you have money, buy the tool craft upgrade, if not, then get the transport to First Shrine and off to Cogwork Core Btm
Cogwork Btm

Pretty straight forward, go to the arena battle at A, destroy it, get your 3rd Mask Shard and then go back and rest.

Then proceed to do the entire orange route and unlock the shortcut at B. We arent getting the Spool Fragment on the btm because well... its risky ( risky it being you still under 5HP with 1 fractured mask ).

Once rested, proceed to the right to enter Whispering Vault. I am pretty certain there is an arena fight but it shouldnt be a problem.
Whispering Vault

4 things to do here;

Start off going and opening the Song Clave shortcut. Thats your first step.

Go down and proceed to get your Mask Shard at B.( finally another HP )

Once you get that, go follow the yellow route and get your free Memory Locket at C.

Go down and go get your Pale Oil. You should be able to avoid all the mobster in the area.

Lastly come out and follow the blue route to open Trobbio at E and then return to the train station to bench.
Whats next?
At this point now, you should be aiming for 7 things:

Double Jump
Drones
Architect Crest
Plasmium Phial
Get More HP
Get more Memory Locket
Get more Spool Fragment
Tool Pouch Upgrade

I am not going to dictate where to go or what to do atm because its a huge work to upload and do but I will generally give some advice here.

Mount Fay Cold Freeze can be negated with Flint Slate for a few seconds if you need the time. You need the simple key to open it so getting it from Pebb or Jubilana would work here. The other 2 keys are at Sands of Karak / Sinner Road so unless you have higher HP, dont bothered with the risk

Drones are nice to have as it opens up more safety ( replacing your Red Tool ). You never take them off anyway so yea.

Architect Crest needs 25 tools to be allowed for purchase and from what we have so far, we have, we should have: Warding Bell, Druid Eyes, Magma Bell, Straight Pins, Shard Pendant, Flea Brew, Injector Band, Compass as definite tools.

What you could collect as quite safe are as follows: Magnetic Brooch, Snare Setter, Shell Satchel, Long Pin, if you bought the craftmetal from Pebb, Stingshard is available, Flintslate, Weighted Belt, Barbed Wire, Tacks, 3 Fold Pins, Drones, Plasmium Phial, Magnetite Dice, Ascension Grip, Silkspeed Anklets, Memory Crystal, Pollip Pouch, VoltVessel, 2 vendors items: Multibinder / Spool Extender.

Plasmium Phial is straight forward, just collect 3 flowers. You can heal from the falling enemies that go pass by and collect 1 memory locket there. If you can also, you can collect the other silk skill but if you dont want, its fine~ you can visit Alchemist guy later in Act 3 and get that skill there if you feel stronger or when you start collecting fleas.

Memory Locket, what you are missing atm: One in Bone Marrow where you got the flea, the bar in Greymoor, Bellhart Vendor, Blasted Steps, The Slab, Memorium, Underworks. Those are the safe ones. The more dangerous ones are Wormways, 2 at Bilewater, Sands of Karak, Deep Docks. The last 2 will only be obtainable in Act 3, Bellheart Top and Karmelita.

Spool Fragment: You can look it up. Generally all of them are relatively safe except probably the Deep Docks one.

Tool Pouch Upgrade is very simple to get. Damage Upgrades are from 12th Architect / Crawbuy Quest ( the Greymoor bar to kill x craws for the scarecrow ) / Grindle / Forge Daughter.

The Capacity is from Nuu / Pilgrim Rest / Loddie ( the straight nail challenge ) and finally Flea to Fleatopia ( which is whatever ).

Lastly, Mask Shards. You want to get the mask shards from this order:

Mt Fay > Blasted Steps > Deep Docks > Wisp Ticket ( this being last cause its at the end of the Wisp Ticket so it would refill your HP to full )

Savage BeastFly Quest ( means you have to go through Hunter March and kill off the first Savage Beastfly. If you have drones here, it would help here, the next quest and the next mask ), Far Fields Lava Segment ( Drones + Pouch Upgrade both Damage and Capacity and full HP will help here since the lava stops when you recovered ), Putrified Ducts to get key to The Slab and lastly Bilewater because f*cking random fish doing 2 HP damage is crazy and getting that last means you can refill your HP.

The worst part about this is that I would advice you to avoid the last 4, as it is the most dangerous and can kill the run. HOWEVER mask shards account for 100% sooooooooooo : ( . If you want, you can skip these 4 until you finish GMS and then collect those after.

IF ANY SPOOL FRAGMENTS OR MEMORY LOCKET OR OTHER STUFFS ARE DANGEROUS, JUST AVOID IT UNTIL FINISHING GMS SO THAT AT LEAST YOU GET THE ACHIEVEMENT FOR STEEL SOUL. YOUR PRIORITY IS 8 MASK HP AND EVERYTHING ELSE LATER IS SECONDARY. DONT LOSE A RUN BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO DO AN ARENA THAT YOU WERENT PREPARE

Below are some small video tips

THAT FLY ON THE LEFT CAN SHOOT YOU IF YOU ARE ON THE PLATFORM SO I HIGHLY SUGGEST SKIPPING THE RIGHT PLATFORM FOR THE ABOVE ONE. DOUBLE JUMP FOR IT
8 Mask Shards and a dream
Assuming you met the criteria of 8 Mask Shards + some crest + some Memory Locket + Spool Fragments, whats the next step?

I would advice you to do uhh "The Great Taste of Pharloom", as the Pickled Muckmaggot would be the hardest one but IF YOU HAVE DRONES AND MAX UPGRADE TOOL DAMAGE + 3 UPGRADES OF TOOL CAPACITY , you can just spam drones and just avoid her. If needed, go Architect and OD blue blood. That way anything from her maggot damage wont matter if you need to heal or not.

For the Sands of Karak, you have to deal with the Duo Great Conchflies. Again Architect it if you need to but if not, drones should be enough. Do all that, get your Crustnut and then proceed to slaughter everything in the Citadel and do the run route.

Once that's done, you can do Trobbio I guess? There is nothing else making you strongest or safer. Drone it up if you need to.

I cant advice much about him as his tornado spin attack varies in distance ( which is his main moveset and killer damage ) but all I can say is good luck~

CogWork Core Top

here is what I had to go to a speedrunner stream and count how many times he hit the handle lol
High Halls
First thing first, yes, I didnt make a route about it and I mention so much about drones but if you already played the game 1 time, I'm sure this isnt a problem for you to route.

In any case, the more priority important thing is this"

1) Remove the Silk Stealers F*cks that spawns. Here is a small video from someone on YT about how to get rid of them:

All credits go to that YT~ Not sure who is the OG to find it out first but yea.

2) If your nail upgrade is lvl 3 by now, you can 1-2 shot enemies by charging the Architect charged attack. Most of the enemies will die but if not, then the drones should finish them up. And I hope you got tacks & FULL SHARDS by the time you are about to fight them.

Your equipment are as follow: Architect Crest with Drones + Tacks + Blue Phial.
Yellow: Ascension Grip + Magnetite Dice ( if you upgrade and have a spare, the Shell Satchel )
Blue: Fractured Mask + Pollip Pouch ( if upgrade, Druids Eyes ).

Excuse me? Why not Injector Band? Because it doesnt heal when you are OD with blue blood. If you need to heal, you inject yourself with more blue blood lol.

What you do now is as follows. Charge attack any mobster and let the drones finish them up and do that until you reach the 2 juggernaughts at the end and proceed to do the final cheese strats, aka, stick to the wall and throw tacks at them xD

Lace 2
Congratz on beating High Halls!!!! Now the 2nd final stretch~

Lace 2 is hard.... Even looking back at my recordings, I cant believe her up spin attack tracks you..

Here is my playthrough:

Why I get hit in the beginning from that mob? Check silk

Things to look out for, when she starts slamming, its always 2 so heal up after the 2nd slam.

As you can see, the druids' eyes comes in quite clutch.

Also everytime I heal, I tend to run far away and jump heal so yea.

Not the best run and I know its not that good but if its this bad, you can definitely do it!

Grand Mother Silk
So the choice now is either we do Grand Mother Silk (GMS) or do Silk & Song and then do GMS. Uhh no... we do GMS so we can get the achievement first. I dont think its a good idea to do every other quest and stuff, just to save time to not do GMS twice. There is still so much to do before Silk & Soar because generally you want to avoid Act 3 Void mobsters because they do A TON of damage.

Here is my playthrough for reference:

Things to note:

Whenever she do her swing arm attack you want to double jump between the nails, not double jump at the end of the arm. If you are at the end of the sides, you will get hit 100% like in 1:26

Her horizontal nail tends to be off screen but its always 1 space 1 1 OR 1 1 space 1. When in phase 2, its harder to spot so make sure you prioritize looking at that part. Like at 1:51

When she summon blades on the ground, you can destroy it by hitting it twice

Her 3 hit combo silk threads is kinda bullsh*t because if the threads are just above Hornet's head, it still counts as hit so best if you can jump for an empty spot. At 1:54, its a guaranteed capture hit to me even if I were to be on the left side of it
Congratz on getting Steel Soul! Now what?
Now what indeed? You could stop and take a rest or you could go for 100%? It's your called but I just highlight some dangerous key areas to watch out for

I'll highlight some map areas that are dangerous.

A: Deep Docks Arena Battle to get the Flea. Dangerous cause of those "boom" throwing enemies. I dont believe Magma Bell stops 2 damage from it so becareful of that place

B: The abyss escape. Before attempting this, I suggest you to watch a YT video or speedrun video about this so you know your route easier than blindly trying it out.

C: Father Flame and the stupid mechanic underworks area. Father Flame is hard because AGAIN, FIRE.... Also there is no way to heal from this fight so Druids' Eyes FTW. Here is my attempt to it:

D: BroodF*cking Mother and First Sinner.... Nothing says danger than explosive ads in a small room that the boss does 2HP contact damage and shoots crap at you to stick you to the ground. First Sinner is another Lace fight so just be prepared.

E) Cracked Raging Conchfly. 1.5x faster than the previous and every hit it does is 2 damage. And it has this weird sh*t that when it is stationary, somehow when you want to hit it, it is levitating in such a way that you have to do some mini jump to hit it...

F) Lastly Bilewater RNG Fish Mask.... If you are planning on getting that, make sure its the last mask and while you are there, might as well do Shakra quest as well as collect the Memory Locket + Fleas + whatever missing there.

G) IF you have to do Goal, there are multiple YT videos on how to beat him so yea~

Btw, here is 2 places where you can farm. Slot in Magnetite Brooch, Shard Pendant, Thief Mask and Pin Badge.

The first is at the Citadel. You get 46 gold + 14 shards and the 2nd one is at Greymoor with 47 gold + 17 shards. Key difference are: 1 additional transition scene & shards are capped at 700-800 eventually so yea. What you want to do is finish up all vendors items so that you dont need to farm in Act 3 as well as getting enough reserve Shard Bundle ( 20 max ) so that you can spam drones and stuffs. So maybe farm for about 5000 gold to play safe as shard bundle cost 50 gold.

Groal The Trivialize
Putting this in BECAUSE THE SKIP FROM PUTRIFIED HAS BEEN PATCH so no one likes this boss and might have trouble with it.

Even more with it being in Steel Mode. So here is a cheese strat. Pretty sure it has been done before or if you Youtube it up, there are so many guides to deal with this boss but here is mine.

What you must need

Architech Crest
Plasmium Phial
SHARDS ( make sure you have enough to craft it )
About 7-8 Mask Shard
Tool Pouch Upgrade at least 3 damage and 3 capacity. Its easy to get those

What you DONT REALLY NEED BUT NICE TO HAVE

Drones
Latern from Father Flame ( this one is eh? Could be replaced. Its only good for a single hit to summon flame but I feel that this charm might be griefing )
Any other tool
Charged Attack Skill ( Remove ads )

Here is my meh ( meh being I try to be as bad as possible ) attempt:

The joke is that blue blood just heals without the need of silk so it trivialize the entire silk heal mechanics. Add that if you hide at the corners in the maggot soup, Groal may never hit you ( "may" because he can dive up to your location or the ball might AoE you but its so rare ).

Just hide there, use drones, hit once or twice if you need to use flame and if not hide to regen health.

Its also funny how if you have Druids' Eyes and get eaten, you get free silk + damage + fire latern summon then go back to soup and regen.

So the choice you have is either you hit a couple of times, craft more tools and throw more drones in soup OR just regen with Druids' Eyes, get eaten and do damage there and go back to soup > regen > repeat
Act 3
Somehow you are a masoschist and manage to get 90% completion and are done with GMS with Silk & Song. You are in Act 3 now. End game~

As you wake up, you have 4 HP.............

YEAPPPPPPPPPPP no......... we save quit it. We arent going to waste 15hrs of our time, just for our pride. If the argument is "oHh YoU Ar3 SupPoseD tO do iT in 1 RuN / SaV3 FiL3 ", you could say "eh Hornet just resting for more time to get more HP back "

In any case, go down slowly, dont get hit by the steam and then fight the void mobsters. A good tip is to charge your attack and kill of the right one first, then left. Then charge up and go right again, kill that mobster off because the left will drop down a huge one but slow. Then finish that guy off and you are done~

Bell Eater
Yeah......... I cant advice a lot with this. Again, drone it up because it spew out so much random attacks that its kinda bs....

This is one of the few bosses that I had trouble with

Here is my playthrough and I hope you can pick up something from it lol:

As you can see... lol
Abyss Escape
I wont route the Abyss because well... there isnt much to route. MAKE SURE YOU COLLECT THE FAR SIGHT BEFORE LEAVING

However, escaping the Abyss is another thing. Things can go wrong fast so here is my video attempt to it. Wear Magma Bell, get Phial and make sure you learn the route carefully to escape. One more thing, when you see me harpoon at the sides or drop off at the edge, its because I was attempting to Silk Soar ( as some speedrunners did it ) but I failed twice so I just go normally. If you missed the Silk Soar chance, you dont have time to redo it again so yea

The 4 hearts, which to choose?
We pick:

1) Virdinia
2) Sands Of Karak
3) Skarrsinger Karmelita

Why? Because Seth can kill a run......... You can obviously just run away by leaving the arena but let say you are 1 HP left and trying to run away and he just teleports infront of you and contact damage you for that.......... Yeah lets not try that

Why Virdinia? Because the boss is easy af and the whole thing is in a dream so there is no risk involve. Same as the Sands of Karak. To go there isnt a problem anymore if you have already destroy everything and route there before Act 3. Then it just dream sequence. Just architect blue blood it

Why Skarrsinger Karmelita? Because you need 2 HP Mask Shard there + 1 Memory Locket. Once you get those, you can get the other Memory Locket in BellHart and the other 2 mask from Mt Fay + Destroy 12 Void Masses.

Last one, Lost Lace
By now, you should have 99%. If not, do everything first before this.

Now...I'm not going to pretend to know how to beat this boss nor cheese it. I highly suggest you to go back to your old file ( the first 100% file ) and practice it if you have to since you have access to Lost Lace there .

All I can say is good luck, practice as much as you can in your old file and make sure you are ready.

Here is my attempt:

You beat the game and got Steel Heart!
Congratz~

You have 100% Steel Mode it. You are now one of those few 1.2% that manage to complete it ( according to global steam achievement ).

What now?

Guess we have to wait for Pantheon of Pharloom~ Hope it isnt a runback of 50 bosses in 1 go.

All in all, congratz and hope to see you in the next DLC!
