Description
Ronivan's Legacy - Industrial Revolution
Whats this project?
As you might have heard, Ronivan has passed away.
For many years, Ronivan was one of the premiere modders in the ONI community.
His mods offer a massive expansion to regular progression, and some mods alone could even be considered a DLC in scope.
With detailed handcrafted graphics, to carefully considered balance, to entirely new systems, Ronivan attracted many admirers in the ONI community for his incomparable work.
It is for these reasons, I believe the content he made should not be lost to an update breaking them in the future (which is something that would happen eventually).

Project Goals
The target of this project is the creation of one, huge mod that incorporates and remasters all of Ronivan's industrial mods into one, configurable "modpack".
Individual sub-mods can be toggled off by the player if they do not want them in their game.
You will also be able to not only turn off submods, but individual buildings as well.

Why one mod?
Several mods have overlaps in content.
For example; Mineral Processing - Metallurgy shares nearly all its buildings with Chemical Processing - Industrial Overhaul, leaving the two mods incompatible.
Additionally, having these amounts of "duplication" over several mods massively increases the maintainance effort, as a bugfix has to be transferred over to each of these versions.
These overlaps have now been adressed by consolidating these duplicate buildings into a singular building each.

What Content is in this mod?
This mod contains the content of the following mods:
This mod covers all the content of those, so you should not try to have them enabled alongside with this mod.

Content created by Ronivan thats NOT included:

Wiki
As a mod description does not offer enough space to properly describe everything, I have created a dedicated wiki to cover all the content, adjustments and tweaks of this mod.

You can find it here: https://sgt-imalas.github.io/Wiki/Ronivans%20Legacy/

If you played with these mods before, I recommend reading up on the changes and adjustments section.

Only want some of that content?
If you only want some of the content, you can configure the mod that way!

You can both turn off entire sub-mods and individual buildings.

What does "Remaster" mean
For the most part, this refers to quality of life additions, UI improvements and small bug fixes.
Some functions have been rewritten under the hood to be more maintainable, but for the most part, the mods should play like their original version.

I also made a few balance adjustments, but these can be changed or reverted in the mod config.

The largest deviation from the originals is the addition of heavy duty rails to High Pressure Applications, these serve as a rail version of high pressure pipes, and some early game balance adjustments to Logistic Rails.

For the full list of changes, please refer to the wiki.

Credits and Thanks
This mod would not have been made without the original work of Ronivan, who created all the original mods,
thank you for everything you created my friend.

I would also like to thank the following people for helping me during development with testing, feedback and bug reports:
  • MilesObrienWasAUnionMan
  • 梦乃(AiAe)
  • Tesgri
  • Gem
  • Sonia_k
  • Kierbo05

Also thanks to the following people providing mod translations:
  • 梦乃(AiAe) - Chinese
  • DarkEvil - Russian
  • CtpSpoon & Pholith - French
  • flyin98 - Korean
(If you want to add a translation to the mod, the translation template can be found in the mod folder.)

Thank you Aki for making the Heavy-Duty Sweeper and Heavy-Duty Loader animations.

Compatibility
All existing buildings of Ronivan's original mods should seemlessly transfer over to the same buildings in this mod within existing saves.

Existing fabricator buildings being transferred over from Ronivan's standalone mods migh lose their queued recipes due to internal changes to the fabricator system.

Generally, this mod should be compatible with other mods (we tested over 480 of the more common ones).

The Nuclear Processing content will only show up in Spaced Out, everything else is compatible with all game versions.

Current latest Version: 1.12.4

Issue handling, Bug Reports and Local Download
Do not attempt to use Ony Mod Manager to update this mod, it breaks the updating system, injecting an arbitrary timeout that WILL always fail at these filesizes, leaving the mod in a broken state.
Also due to that file size, Mod Updater is pretty much required to properly keep it up to date.

If you run into what looks like a "restart loop", or the mod is suddenly marked as incompatible, you most likely will have OneDrive interfering.

Turn off OneDrive for your documents folder and follow the Klei Troubleshooter[support.klei.com] to restore proper file permissions.

Also make sure to follow all steps described in my own Troubleshooting Guide[github.com] before commenting.

Should all attempts on automatic updating fail (or you are on a different platform than Steam), you can download the mod manually from my GitHub release[github.com].

If you find any bugs or crashes, please report these on GitHub[github.com] or on my Discord Server[discord.gg].

Always include the full player.log in a report: https://github.com/Sgt-Imalas/Sgt_Imalas-Oni-Mods/wiki/Troubleshooter-Guide#sending-a-log

Make sure you do NOT have the mod "Debug Console // by @Ony 👾" enabled as it breaks the game internally and makes the log useless for debugging!

抱歉吐槽一下:重做的选择性电弧炉其冷却机制十分让人摸不着头脑,有点多此一举……

not possible.

While a unified mod makes it easier to maintain (especially with the incompatibilities and overlaps), it also has a lot of moving parts, in turn making compatibility issues with other mods more likely. And ONI has the tendency to break things, while single-purpose mods can remain unmaintained since 2020 and still work (especially parts mods).
Personally, i would only need the Heavy Watt wires and maybe Pressurized Pipes. But the fear of adding yet-another big framework/modpack (see above) keeps me away, hope the original mods keep working.

Which is why, Is there a way to make this a modular pack, with maybe a base-library? I think this would be the optimal solution, given the circumstances.

Moving heavy watt wires around seems to have a general performance impact, even with the patches that impact it disabled. the underlying method seems to allocate a lot of space, leading to frequent garbage collection happening. this happens at higher frequency with the patches enabled, I have done some optimization to them and made them conditional to their respective sub-mods

Biodiesel engine crash will be fixed next update

Someone can tell me if 'load order' can change settings from prev mod loaded? Because now I have try to put Customize Buildings to last load mod. And try to put Ronivan Legacy before Customize Buildings and in 2 entire cycles not get any issues.

But when I try to rebuild a new Heavi-Watt Conductive Wire and Heavi-Watt Conductive Joint Plate or also the non conductive version, this issue hit me. Can hit me instant before they build it, after they build it or sometimes after half cycles.

Its like the ONI start a massive calculation for this things and slow down the game at all.

But for sure its something related to power cables. Game become unplayable at all, too many lag in scrolling and duplicant teleporting when they run for spike cpu. Now I try with the old Dupes Refrigerator because i need my fridge.

I have the game crash everytime I try to access a biodiesel engine built rocket from the STARMAP page. All other engine type rockets work fine. This happens even if this mod is the only one enabled, all others disabled (vice-versa the game doesnt' crash). I have all DLCs except The Phehistoric Planet pack. Is someone else experiencing this as well, or have any fix? Greatly appreciated, as I like this mod.

I think something is wrong because i encounter a strange bug.

I have run my colony for 75 days without any issues or lag, but in the moment I go for build Hydrogen Power, after a while the game become lagged, also scroll is lagged. I lost 3 hours for understand what happens.

At the end I load my old colony and when I start to build Hydrogen Power, A High Plate and UltraWire, the game become lagged.

I have try to disable everything in Ronivan except Dupes Refrigeration for my Fridge, but nothing, the issue persist.

I have disable Ronivan and this strange thing never happens again.

Something in this MOD after a while (just 30-60 seconds) become the game stuttering and lag and the Vanilla Hydrogen Generator cause the lag.

I try to restart and sometime also only click Power, choice Hydrogen Generator, cause the game to lag before i place it!.
