How to INCREASE your game's REFRESH RATE

Want to play Dead Island at a high refresh rate but can't because of the game's 100hz max refresh rate limit? Well, this guide is for you!

As you can see in the image above, the max refresh rate for this game is 100hz, let's try and make it 240hz instead!
So, how do I do it?
It's very simple, first of all let's go into your computer's Documents folder.
After that, find the "DeadIsland" folder in there and open the folder "out" and then "Settings".

In there, you will find two files. "Audio" and "Video". Open Notepad on your computer and drag the Video file into it.

In the file, press CTRL+F and look for "MaxRefresh", then press Enter two times.
Change the number in parenthesis to your monitor's refresh rate. I'll be using 240hz for this guide.

After doing that, save the file you just edited. and go back to the Settings folder.
Right-click the Video file and go to "Properties". In there, set the file as "Read-Only" then apply changes.
TADA!
That's it! You can now play the game with your desired refresh rate!
Reminder
If you wish to change any video settings in the game, you will need to remove the "Read-Only" property from the file and add it back when you are done.
