By Buzz Bomb8
If you find that the 25 personality points at character creation doesn't give you much room to make the Sims you want, then this quick method should be able to help.

When creating a character make sure that the stats are reversed from how you will want them in the end.

You get the idea.

In this example I will be using a character with no personality & making them the talk of the town.

If you do not use all your personality points the game will ask if you are sure. Just confirm your selection & the game will let you progress.
The Chemistry Table
This is going to be your friend when you start out. I recommend placing out many of these & letting your Sim(s) go to town.

Important:
Make sure that you are only making blue & yellow potions. If your Sim makes any other color, sell the table & replace it before they get a chance to drink it when you are not looking. Do NOT let them drink the others. They can have bad effects or just waste your time.
If you are curious about the other potions, you can view them here.[sims.fandom.com]

Blue:
This is the most common potion. Drinking this will max three random motives. Motives are things like hunger, comfort, energy, etc. Save these as you make them. When your Sim starts to get red bars they will not want to make potions any more. Just drink blue potions until you are back to green & keep making potions.

Yellow:
This is the potion you want. This potion reverses your entire personality. Getting this may take some time since it is a bit more rare. Depending on how long it takes to make this, your Sim might have a high logic score when it is over. If it takes a while to get this you might also be visited by a cop & forced to pay a small fine of $500 because the local school can smell your meth lab fumes.

After drinking the yellow potion with our example character everything becomes maxed out.
Personality Effects
How many points you put into each trait will effect your game.

Neat
  • Slob (0-2): So I occasionally leave a pizza box or two laying around, and I don't mind the flies buzzing all over. Why clean up when everyone else is willing to do it?
  • Occasional Cleaner (3-7): When it comes to cleaning up I have a few basic rules. I flush when I'm done, clean up my own junk and take out the trash now and then.
  • Neat-Freak (8-10): I'm known to wash dishes as soon as I'm finished eating. The trashcan's barely full before it's taken out. The paper is recycled as soon as I'm finished reading. And the house is always spotless whenever I'm about.
Neater Sims' hygiene decays slower. They will also automatically flush the toilet & clean up after meals.

Outgoing
  • Shy (0-2): Being self-conscious and introspective, I don't have a great need to be social. It's hard for me to meet new people and make friends.
  • Member of the Crowd (3-7): I'm a little reserved, and it takes me a while to warm up to new people. You won't see me in the middle of huge crowds at parties, but I won't be sitting quietly in a corner either.
  • People Person (8-10): I'm an extrovert. I love to talk to everyone. I crave social interactions. Basically, I'm a social animal.
The social bar of outgoing Sims decays rapidly. The main benefit of shyness is that a Sim's social bar decays more slowly.

Active
  • Lazy (0-2): Is there anything worse than getting out of bed in the morning? Who needs ambition--a warm couch and a good TV show is all anyone needs.
  • Laid Back (3-7): Though not always on the go, I am somewhat motivated. Though I tend to linger a little too long in a nice cozy chair, I won't be caught sitting there all day either.
  • Energetic (8-10): Some say I'm a live wire. Some say I have ants in my pants. Either way, it just means I'm always on the go and anxious to get there.
Active Sims lose energy slower than anyone, and they enjoy working out.

Playful
  • Serious (0-2): Sims who spend their time joking just irritate me. Don't they understand that their frivolous folly is meaningless? So much more fun can be gained by reading a good book.
  • Amused (3-7): I laugh at good jokes, dance if there are other people on the floor, and like to play games. Generally, I like having fun but I don't go overboard.
  • Life of the Party (8-10): When I'm not telling jokes, I'm laughing at them. I've never seen a game I didn't want to play. That's why everyone knows the party is always at my house.

Nice
  • Mean (0-2): Everything makes me mad, especially when someone says I have a temper. If everything wasn't always broken, or other Sims weren't always bothering me, I probably wouldn't have to blow my stack so often.
  • Easy Going (3-7): While some Sims can get on my nerves a little, overall I'm pretty good-natured.
  • Compassionate (8-10): I like giving hugs and compliments. I love making friends with everyone. If everyone were more like me, the neighborhood would be a nicer place.

The Dumb Method
The crystal ball
You can use a crystal ball decoration that will give you a riddle[sims.fandom.com]. If you solve it within 24 in game hours the corresponding personality stat will go up by one point. If you fail, it will go down by one point. Since this is much slower & there is a chance to fail, I would not recommend this. I am only putting it in here to expand your options.

Not sure what happened there. I tried testing the move & delete mood glitch both before & after having Sims drink the yellow potion & could not replicate that.

This is so weird, I restarted my Sim to do this and got the yellow potion first try somehow, then I was doing the move_objects Mood reset glitch and somehow my personality and Job stats got totally reset.

RIP. Restarting a character is not that bad though. Grinding for yellow potions feels worse than grinding for skill points in my experience. As long as you have not invested too much, you should be fine if you decide to restart.

Well shoot, I already started a character that I want to play. >.>
