A paranoid USSR started WW3 all over the globe, and the immediate reaction of the U.S. Government is to protect their most valuable assets. You are leaving Pearl Harbor in order to do so, but eventually, the plot thickens...

launch the B52s 1 at a time. It is a bug. If there is a plane on the taxiway or close to a buff trying to line up on the side of the runway closest to the taxiway, it will freeze. I think I've reported it as a bug but not sure. would be good if others would as well.
