How to easily fix non-startup problem

Ever had the problem that Sonic Adventure 2 doesn't start up? Well you're in luck! This is how to fix this bug in around 0.5 min. Will work for nearly all cases. I found this technique on the Steam Community Disscusions page. The genius behind this method is user reedscott0107, all credit to him.

1: Open the game's page in the library
2: Click on the cogwheel icon on the right.
3: Click on "Manage".
4: Click on "Browse local files".
5: Double-click on the program called "Launcher"
6: Windows will ask you for permission to install files and make changes to the computer. It's Windows, so you won't get hit by a virus, so accept.
7: Wait for the files to download.
(7.5): (I recommend closing all other open windows on the PC for faster download times.)
8: Open the game!

Edit: This will work in most cases. It might not work for some, but it's one of the most common problems with booting up the game. I still recommend trying this out, since it's quick, simple and doesn't change anything in the files, it's just reinstalling the data Steam can't see.

Yeah.. so.. I double click on the SA2 application, but it doesnt load.. All it does is just show a white screen and quits on me. If I try to load it from Mod Loader, it doesnt even work either.. Could you help me?

Installing files after clicking the Launcher? Well, I don't have that.

Hi all, I had a similar issue where the game would get past the launcher and the splash screens, but crash just before the intro cutscene. I managed to fix it by launching the game in windowed mode. Hope this helps anyone.

when i double click the launcher it doesnt tell me to install anything so i cant fix it ;( please help

I would like to play this game as it is my childhood but whenever i open the game it says "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application." i really want to fix this and i have tried youtube but the only thing that has come up on youtube is just a guy explaining it in spanish and i cant understand even if i look at what hes doing
