Colorful Critters

Colorful Critters adds new, purely cosmetic, variants of some critters that can spawn in the place of the original as well as a few completely new critters!

Variants of Vanilla Critters:

• Bunnies - 144 variants
  
• Butterflies - 17 variants
  
• Crabs - 11 variants
  
• Frogs - 9 variants

Brand New Critters:

• Ants - 28 variants. See more info below.
  
• Beetles - 24 variants. Appear in Scorched, Jungle, and Hive biomes.
  
• Toy Cars - 22 variants. Appear in Scorched biomes.

Ants work a teensy bit differently from other critters but not significantly so. In biomes where ants can appear, you will only ever find that specific biomes drone variant wandering around on its own. To get the scout, soldier, and queen variants you instead must find an anthill which is a new microdungeon that can spawn in any biome that ants can spawn in!

Ants can spawn in the following biomes:

• Garden - Carpenter Ants, generic black ants we all know and love.
  
• Forest - Leafcutter Ants, brown ants with dark abdomens.
  
• Jungle - Fire Ants, red ants with sinister stingers.
  
• Savannah - Pharaoh Ants, yellow ants with striped abdomens.
  
• Desert - Sahara Ants, dark red ants with dark upwards pointing abdomens.
  
• Alien - Mutant Ants, purple ants with curly antennae and a single creepy (or cute!) eye.
  
• Hive - Hive Ants, blue ants with a single antenna connecting them to the greater ant mind.

This mods only purpose is to give fun visual variety to some critters, however due to butterflies existing in the games assets but not having their own spawn location this mod does patch butterflies into the spawn pools of Forest, Garden, Jungle, and Giant Flower biomes.

No future updates are confirmed for this mod, however if updates do occur please note that when new variants are added to a critter sometimes that causes already generated critters of that type to have their variant shuffled. This bug is purely visual and will not cause any sort of save corruption!
