What's Worth Trading in Astrox Imperium
In this guide, I break down the value/ton of the trade goods that a player might haul in Astrox Imperium: trade goods are specifically commodities that have no purpose other than to bought in one place and sold in another. You can't make anything with them except money.

To make any money at all off these trade goods, and I cannot emphasize this enough, you must be taking the goods to a station that has them 'In Demand!' You're not even going to break even if you try to sell them anywhere else, you will take a bath!

Some stations do not want any category of trade good; some want ores, and some want components, and some want salvage. Those are not in the purview of this guide; this is only about what you can buy in one place to sell in another.

Wrapped Boxes stand alone as by far and away the most valuable trade good you can haul, both in absolute terms and most incredibly in price/ton terms. You almost might as well be using CheatEngine if you fill up with Wrapped Boxes to sell at a station where they're in-demand. They do have a pretty substantial startup cost, but that's okay, as anywhere that buys Wrapped Boxes will also be buying the other holiday goods, and they're kind of unbelievable too.

These insanely a-thematic holiday goods are an incredibly lucrative way to start your career as a trader in Astrox Imperium if you can find a station that buys them, and ones that sell them. If you're of a mind to make yourself rich beyond the dreams of avarice (or at least give yourself a hyper head-start), fill up on ornaments and candy corn to get the seed money to start shifting wrapped boxes, then clean house.

If you want to stay away from the obviously-busted unthematic holiday goods, then, in the grim dark spacefuture as in humanity's past, the businesspilot with the lobes for profit moves only only one good: dyes for fabric, which are almost twice as profitable as the next-two-most-profitable options.

A major step down from shifting colored dyes are Hygiene Products and Textile Fabrics, each of which are only approximately half as profitable as moving dyes. However, at least textiles are likely to be in-demand in the same places dyes are, so if you would rather make fewer stops to fill your hold but are able to buy out the dye, you might as well buy the fabrics too.

Whiskey and Basic Food Rations are worth your time to trade, if you don't have a better route to run, the rest is barely worth your time, and it's only going to go downhill from here. Special shout-out to the fact that aged wine and antifreeze weigh exactly the same per unit, and cost exactly the same per unit... Are people pouring spicy grape juice into their coolant systems, or are the winos all going blind in this sector of space?

It's honestly kind of surprising how insultingly cheap tools are. You know, those things wthout which all of human civilization would fall apart in a day? And hoo boy does it get bad from here. Reich-Wing readers are advised to stop reading now, or you will get your fee-fees hurt.

Less than five. Credits. Per ton of cargo space. If you're hauling any of this crap, then you are the sucker who was born in some minute. This crap is barely worth your time to sell if you happen to pick it up in space, and then only because figuring out how to jettison cargo is usually more bother than hocking it at the next station.

I can confirm Wrapped Boxes are where the money is at. Went from 500k - 32 million in 4 trips buying from one station where they were reduced 50% (started at 59% and last run it was at 50%) and selling at markup 109% (started at 111%).

Fun fact, you know what's even less profitable than hauling Mechanical Tools?

Spending two and a half hours making this guide! Most of which was spent formatting.
