[B41 & B42] Immunity

Kuvaus
This is a mod that aims to make the time between getting bitten or scratched and the potential zombification way more tense and uncertain. Instead of outright immunity or guaranteed infection, this mod focuses on keeping you guessing and adding layers of suspense to the experience.

Here's the concept:
  • Dynamic Immunity System: Every character starts with a base chance of immunity to the virus.
  • Building Immunity Over Time: For every scratch that doesn't infect you, your immunity slightly improves. However, immunity can weaken over time if you're not exposed to new challenges.
  • Fake Infections: Even if you're immune, your body can react to the bite or scratch with symptoms that feel like the real deal:fever, nausea, etc. You won't know for sure if you're in the clear until the symptoms fade... or you turn.

Compatibility
As far as I'm aware, this mod should work fine with any other mods that do not alter infection mechanics or reduce limb counts (but could still work tho).

Safe to enable the Mod Mid Save and remove it Mid Save

Tested:
  • B42 SP -> Tested
  • B41 SP -> Tested
  • B41 MP -> Tested

I'm currently expanding its functionality to include some cool new features:
  • Blood types affecting immunity and healing.
  • Severity levels for bites and scratches.
  • Permanent damage caused by immune reactions (because surviving comes with scars).
  • Immunity doesn't come without a cost'your body takes a toll from fighting off the virus, potentially leaving you with permanent damage.
  • Diet and Nutritions have a effect on how good the Immun system of the Character will work

I Hope you have fun with this mod!

@Kitsune sadly i can't reproduce the error, i've sent you a request in the hope you can provide me a savegame or something

I was playing with it in 41, and it looks like a SINGLE touch from a zombie once we're immune leads to an *instant death*. And I mean death, with the skull icon, not zombification. I knew that I was immune when I had your scripted very strong body response after a BITE and I did not just die from it.
This is a serious bug and I hope that it'll get fixed in 42. From what I suspect, it's the innate "decay" effect of the virus that does not get reset before we get scratched/slied/bitten. Knowing that this effect is more and more powerful over time, it makes sense that a single tick of it instantly kills us after several weeks/months of gameplay.

@Jamie Bertle
I have tried and my game is often crashin at the start or laggin in the game. There seems to be a conflict between these two but I cant point my finger at what and why.

Would this mesh well with the antibodies mod?

@blackcan I am unavare if there is or isnt regular infections now (not zombificating type), but it seems like bites give you infection every time you get them, and laceratiopns and scratches give it to you from time to time. There is no such thing as "false infection" in my testing.
Probably you should check it yourself, but seems like it does not work at B42 at all.

@zombe
i haven't tested it with the newest unstable version yet, but the safest way to know if its doing what its doing would be to start the game as debug and give your self a lot of scratches, and then give yourself a bite

if in the character debug window it says fake infected, then it works as intended :)

For my first run of B42 I got this mod.
I got two scratches, which should not be lethal at all, and for 3 days have been guessing is this mod's regular behaviour or am I really infected.
Last 10 mins of gameplay I was fighting just for the sake of knowing if it is Z or smoething else.

Great mod! Yet I still have to discover if it works as intended.
