Every skill in the game has direct (counter cards) or indirect counters. It's good to keep an eye on what the lobby is building with tab so you can select counter cards accordingly.

Scouting is important if you want to be competitive in higher ELO. While viewing the lobby's builds with tab you can only see their most leveled skill, however you are able to see the cards they have picked for that skill which will typically also give you an idea of their second or third most leveled skills.

Spending gold on rerolls is fine in certain scenarios, but do not roll just because you're looking for something that fits your 'build'. Each lobby is unique, and you may not get the specific cards you're looking for, especially because...

There is a shared limit to how many cards can be obtained. I'm not sure of the exact number for each tier or if treasure items modify this, but something to keep in mind.

Economy is very important, make sure you're effectively utilizing treasure items and keep in mind that each victory grants 50 gold, but you can also earn up to 50 gold per turn with 10 gold earned for each 100 gold held.

Tier 3 cards are VERY powerful, and getting them early is almost a guaranteed win, especially if you can snag two or more. The best way to obtain one (outside of treasures) is to level a certain skill to 3 stars early on so you have more chances to roll that tier 3 the earlier you are able to see them.

Treasures are not as balanced as the skills are in this game, and some are almost never worth grabbing in most cases. I'm not going to put out a tier list or anything, just use your brain and do some basic math to see if it makes sense.

Also on the subject of treasures, I typically see success when I select my first two treasures as gold generating items, and my third treasure as a health item. That's not ALWAYS the case, but as a rule of thumb this has seemed to be a decent strategy.
