"The horse archers of Kislev are the swift shadows of the steppes, born of a culture that prizes endurance, adaptability, and the bond between rider and steed. Descended from ancient nomadic tribes who once roamed the vast tundras of the Old World, they have become an indelible part of Kislev’s military tradition. These warriors are both scouts and skirmishers, their origins steeped in the constant struggle to defend their homeland from marauding Chaos hordes and opportunistic greenskins. Their mastery of mounted warfare and their ability to live off the land make them indispensable to Kislev’s defense, a testament to the resilience of their heritage.

Life among Kislevite horse archers is one of constant motion, marked by an intimate connection with their hardy steppe ponies. Their armor is functional and unadorned, designed for speed and flexibility—leather reinforced with iron scales, fur-lined to ward off the punishing cold. They wield short, recurved bows of remarkable craftsmanship, capable of piercing armor even while firing at full gallop. Each arrow is carefully maintained, its fletching dyed in clan colors, a symbol of pride and unity. When not training or patrolling, horse archers gather around campfires to share tales of their hunts and battles, passing down lessons through stories that blend history, myth, and martial wisdom. Their rituals honor Taal, Ursun, and even Tor, gods of the land and sky that guide their arrows and steady their steeds.

For the horse archers, the future is one of unrelenting purpose. They see themselves as protectors of the untamed expanses of Kislev, guardians of the wilderness that shields the cities and towns of their people. Their vision is simple yet profound: to ensure that their traditions endure and that the steppe remains a free and vital part of their homeland. United by discipline and pride, they carry their legacy forward, knowing that their skill and courage are the sharp edge of Kislev’s survival in a harsh and unforgiving world."

There is no arrow. In the game the horse archers sometimes just tense the bow.
