For people who can't do the timing or just don't want to, basketball remains a great choice.
Blackjack is okay if you want to do 1k bets, but it's RNG instead of deterministic so it's a poor choice overall unless you want to save scum.
I've found the slots to be an extremely underrated source of chips. They have several advantages. First, there's no buildup to getting tons of chips. In fact, you can get a net gain of 9,900 on your first spin. Unlike real slot machines, they're not rigged against you. All it takes is good timing (always go for Bethel in the middle, he's a wild card space, so even if you screw up the jackpot you still can get your chips back with a lower win). Due to this, It greatly reduces your stamina usage that is needed to build up to higher gains in the hoops, making it ideal for VERY early game when you have 1/2 to 1/3 of the stamina needed for high returns. And, if you screw up your timing a few times, it won't set your win streak back to 0. (I have a bad habit of overcompensating when I mess up my timing.)
Yeah feel free to! Thanks for asking. :)
The message of "You feel the distance to your God lessening" means that your current piety is at 25-50% of your max piety.
For you to receive a pet with that message, it means that your piety, despite being at 25-50% of your potential max, is already at least 15 Faith's worth of piety.
This means that your Faith is probably somewhere in the ballpark of, say, 30 to 60, for instance. (Would I be correct?) This is why while your piety may seem relatively low compared to your max possible, your Faith is so high that the piety amount is sufficient.
I probably offered a lot more items than I needed to.
