[GM] Inferno - Red Zone

Establishing battlefield control.

//Requirements//
Nothing else should be required. Everything should be packed into the map. The map file itself should be "cmdr_inferno_redzone" in the menu under "CMDR_RileySV", minus the quotation marks.

If your PC could run CS:GO's version of Inferno, it should probably be able to run this. Everything should be packed in, though users have described issues involving Left 4 Dead skies in another map of mine. If you can't see the sky, mounting Left 4 Dead might help with this.

//Gameplay//
  • New Inferno in the style of the Tiberium series of Command and Conquer games, complete with more rundown aesthetic
  • A couple of previously blocked off rooms now open
  • Active lightning storm
  • Two teleport destinations: one for each spawn from the original map.
  • Nodegraph/AI nodes and navmesh for NPCs

While in the Gmod Sandbox mode, any dead bodies, blood stains, activated map scripts or other changes can be cleaned/reset using this: Pressing Q -> Utilities -> Admin -> Cleanup -> Cleanup Everything

//Development//
Through the Advisors there was a request for something based on another of Valve's games. Also, since it was Halloween, I wanted something a bit spooky. I wasn't sure exactly how to marry the two ideas, until I remembered that in Command and Conquer, Tiberium is first found in Italy. Given the prominence of Italian themed maps in Counter-Strike, it seemed like a match made in heaven.

Destroying Inferno to a degree was interesting. Having to decide what to break was difficult, especially since Inferno is quite high up on the brush limits. Adding the Tiberium was fun, especially getting the radiation effect and lights. Makes the map feel very sick and deathly. Perfect for the Halloween vibes. Also dipping back into a universe from my childhood was fun.

//Closing//
This was an interesting little map to make! I hope you guys like the different sort of mashup going on here.

Way back in the day of Garrysmod . org, before Gmod 12, I screwed around with the Tiberium crystal mod on de_inferno. That was a memory forgotten until I saw this map.
