haha - I know it isn't what she means, but it made me think of 'warrior bragging mementos' where they fashion stuff out of their vanquished enemies' skulls and bones and bits: So when she says "how many I've made into fans" the picture that popped into my mind was a collection of prettily painted fans made out of their rib-bones and tibias and such ;-)
