About this Guide
Hi! This guide will be teaching you different methods of scamming and how not to get scammed!
The Most Common Method
If you've ever used {LINK REMOVED} then you have probably seen people with either a private profile or a non set up profile add you and send you a link with text. The message they send will usually have bad grammar and say that they couldn't add you or something even though they just did. If they do, just remove them and move on, reporting won't do much. Make sure to NEVER click the links! Note how the link says "commrunity" instead of "community" be careful of this!
Fake Screenshot Website
There is now a new scam coming out, that I have almost been fooled by. Luckily I know not to press links though. The link i was given was something like screensaver.eu. Never press links for a website that you have never heard of, as they could be fake and a could download files to your computer atomatically to steal your inventory. If someone sends you a link that is a screenshot or anything else that you don't recognize make sure to look up the website and not click the link and make sure the links are spelled correctly! Here is an example:
Steam Wallet Codes
If anyone ever offers you Steam wallet codes when you post a trade on {LINK REMOVED}, do not accept them. They will ask you to go first and then run off with the guns. Trust me, it does not sound fun. I have had a lot of people offer me these but I have never taken it simply because they won't go first. I would never take the codes even if they were legit. I'm pretty sure anyone would rather take money through PayPal, but this leads us to our next topic.
PayPal Money
Most people on {LINK REMOVED} will offer real money. You can tell if the people are legit is if they have a dollar sign by their name because they have donated to the lounge or make sure they have a high reputation on CSGO Lounge and their Steam profile. Make sure the people pay you first instead of you giving over your skins first! If they don't have a high reputation but they still go first, then there is always a chance that they will refund the money and live happily with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Heres a video of most of the PayPal scams by NatoSaphix:
Weapons Skin Wear
Sometimes someone on CSGO Lounge will put that, let's say, they have an M4A4 | Radiation Hazard Factory New. So you think its a good offer for your brand new Bayonet | Fade or whatever skin you have and you go into a trade with them. But, they could actually have a minimal wear Radiation Hazard and you lose 300 dollars/euros because you didn't check. What now? You really can't do anything considering Valve warns you about scamming and they won't do naything unless someone actually hacked your account.
Conclusion
After reading all of these, which there will be more to come, you should know to never accept these kinds of trades, unless the PayPal one is someone who is legit. You now have more knowledge and I will update this guide when I find out about more scams that some jerks are making. Good luck and happy trading! Remember, this is a no scam zone!
