Welcome to ANOTHER series of videos from @CaptChang Presents... UBOAT! I've actually owned UBOAT since its early access days, but never really tried it. Now that it's left early access, it's time to give it a try!

This is basically me fumbling through training missions 4 through 7.

Let's continue...

00:30 Training 4: Patrol

We're heading out the harbor, and head to the patrol area...

We need to plot 1600 km of travel within the patrol area, with random zigs and zags...

03:30 Check the radio for updates...

Von Dresky found an incoming transmission... It seems U-455 was attacked by aircraft and needs assistance... Let's go to her aid...

05:55 Aircraft attack!

We found U-455... and the aircraft that attacked her. Rieger, man the gun! Captain will man the lookout on the bridge...

We've been hit! Rieger is hurt, but he had shot down the enemy aircraft! Engineer, isolate the leak! Rieger, get in bed! You, help him! Von Dresky, you're the medic, apply first aid on Rieger! Other engineer, turn on the pump! Save the boat first, then save the crew!

11:39 Destroyer sighted!

DIVE! DIVE! DIVE! Maximum depth! Condition blue! Turn off all devices! Keep bulkheads closed! Dive planes on manual! Silent running!

XO, watch that kid. I think he's about to crack.

16:00 Area clear

Surface the boat! Recharge air tanks, cancel silent running, turn on gyro, start diesel...

It appears U-455 had sunk. We shall resume patrol.

Upon completion, we will return to port.

20:54 Back to port

Wow, there's a band greeting us. Ship's company, assemble!

22:47 Training 5: Recruitment

We need to get rid of the sailor who cracked under pressure, and recruit a new sailor.

24:19 Training 6: Ship Upgrades

We can't afford any yet, nor did we research any.

We'll load some supplies and torpedoes.

27:00 Training 7: Headquarters

We can go to headquarters and admire what may be available for research... once we have completed a few missions and get some reputation points.

29:10 It's time to get serious...

Now the campaign truly starts... Tonnage war. We need to mine 3 British ports, and sink 25000 tons of shipping (just be careful whose ship we sink).

We also picked up a spy we will drop off at Ireland. But will we have enough fuel to get there?

Guess we'll figure that out in the next episode.

I actually haven't played a WW2 sub sim for a VERY long time. Last one I've played was Sid Meier's Silent Service (the original, not II). Yes, it's been that long. I actually never played the Silent Hunter series either. This would be an interesting experience as I tend to play more "modern" sub sims.

I'll take it easy on myself and go with the "entertaining" setting instead of hardcore.
