To make sure the following fix is the right one for you , we need a little bit of work first.

Open the event viewer on Windows (any version will have it)

Once open , look for "Windows Logs" and click on Applications. It will list every error your computer has had.



Keep the event viewer open and launch Lambda Wars.
Once done look for an error :
"Fault Module Name: shaderapidx9.dll" and exception code "0xc0000005"
If its indeed this error then:
- Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\wbem

- Find the file called fastprox.dll


- Right click on it and open properties


- Go to the security tab and click the "Advanced" button at the bottom


- Click "Change" next to the owner


- Write your username and click "Check Names" , it will automatically find the name. If it doesn't make sure you have written it properly.

- Click Ok and apply

- Rename fastprox.dll

Can't rename it ?
- Open the properties again and go back to the security tab
- Click Edit


- Find the Administrators and change the permissions to "Full control"

Now try to restart Lambda Wars. If it still doesnt work , make sure you have restarted your computer after this process. Otherwise you can attempt to repeat it.

This is usually less cut than most issues but there are a couple of things you can try.

- Restart your computer. Always try to turn it on and off again.

- Verify the game integrity cache , simply do this by right clicking the game , going to properties and "Verify Game Integrity'






- Check your antivirus block list. Some anti viruses block the lw.exe due to them thinking it is a virus.
If you are using McAffee please uninstall it and pick a better anti virus.

If none of these have fixed your issue then I recommend reinstalling the game completely.
Make sure you are also restarting your PC after any of these actions.

If you have problems with low fps you can easily increase it by changing your resolution to a smaller one.

You can alternatively reduce the shadow levels.

And the lighting.

Still not working ?

Close the game and open the game's settings.

Change the DirectX settings directly with -dxlevel

The following levels might work.
-dxlevel 70
-dxlevel 80
-dxlevel 81
-dxlevel 90
-dxlevel 95

Play around with them and see what works for you


Still having bad FPS especially on water maps ? Nuke the water.

Open up the console ingame and type in these settings
cl_show_splashes 0
mat_wateroverlaysize 0
r_WaterDrawReflection 0
r_WaterDrawReflection 0

Make sure you have your console binded in your keys first
To open the console simply launch a map and press the button or go back to the launch options and use this setting -console

This is generally due to a hard drive issue.

Make sure you are running the game on a dedicated hard drive.
An SSD will net you the best results.

Do not attempt to run the game through external hard drives or usb sticks as it will significantly decrease your performance.

Sorry folks , Linux compatibility isnt possible with Lambda Wars.

You can attempt to run the game through Proton or through a Windows VM if you are capable of setting one up.
If you would like to setup a VM I recommend you use VirtualBox.

if you are using an NVIDIA card , go into the NVIDIA control panel , and change the physx settings if you are on auto



Make sure to select your graphics card and not the integrated one if you are on a laptop




If you are using an AMD card , there might be a similar solution with their proprietary software but since I do not have an AMD to test this you'll have to figure it out.
