HIMMNS Auspicious Conveyance

Unlike the larger purpose-built ships of the Mercantile Navy, many of its smaller vessels are modified from requisitioned civilian vessels. One of the most common types acquired in this manner are ferries and other relatively shallow-draught passenger transport ships. Once fitted out, they are a common sight with expeditionary forces such as those sent on punitive missions or to contest colonial possessions, ferrying supplies and soldiers across the world. This particular class is only lightly equipped, intended to be swiftly re-converted for peacetime service following the end of hostilities, and as such bears no anti-surface armament. Rarely seen outside of escorted convoys, those troops assigned to it scarcely feel safer under continuous risk of submarine attack or mining, whether departing to or returning from war.
