(Unfortunately not everyone will be able to find resolution through these but it does seem to work for most)

***If you use a VPN, enable port forwarding, if this is not an option, you may have to turn your VPN off*** (this resolved the long "joining match" problem for eternal war / survival, and the invisibility glitch in campaign for some reason)

***After considering some anecdotal experience between some players and I, it seems that the while it may be counterintuitive, lowering your settings to low regardless of specs is not optimal, leaving them at medium is preferable.

***Make sure you installed the game on your SSD, if you didn't, move it to one.

***Disabling steam overlay seems to help some people who crash at launch or soon after

***Alt tabbing destablizes the game for many, do so at your own discretion

Make sure you restart the game after making changes and perhaps even your entire machine just to do your due diligence.

(Even if you're not dealing with this particular bug, you really should apply this change as part of your endeavor to troubleshoot given the absence of optimization)

Did Titus ever make it out of the Inquisitor's basement? Is he truly engaged in battle against Tyranids, or merely a psychotic episode? If the insidious influence of Tzeentch has corrupted your cogitator, rendering foes present and yet absent... obscured by the veil of the Warp... then, *consults the sacred texts*:

- Switch render resolution to balanced or performance mode (you may want to experiment with all of the options as some yield better results relative to your hardware, unfortunately some cutscenes will likely remain ♥♥♥♥♥)[
- Try switching between TAA, FSR, and DLSS

Exit out of steam completely, open task manager and kill all services and derivatives. Upon relaunching the problem should've resolved itself

- Game settings have the display mode configured to be borderless, switch to fullscreen (solves some people's performance problems)
- Lowering shadows/motion blur seems to impact frame rate the most if you have stuttering or screentearing
- Cap your framerate to 60
- If you have integrated graphics, make sure the game is not defaulting to that as opposed to your dedicated GPU in the video adapter setting
- Set the game .exe's priority to high/realtime using task manager (go to the details tab and right click on the 40k .exe ***must be done prior to the space marine loading splash screen appearing, some systems/devices might need the task manager to be run as an administrator as well***).

((there's an alternative to this one if you're having a hard time (credit to Sol-Prime)))
***Editing the registry can lead to system instability and interacts with a myriad of factors you may not be conscious of, exercise discretion

1. Open Registry Editor (Run as Administrator)
2. Open this path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options
3. Create a New Key (Name it: Warhammer 40000 Space Marine 2 - Retail.exe)
4. With the drop-down menu create a new Key.
5. Name it: PerfOptions
6. DWORD (32-Bit) Value.
7. Name it: CpuPriorityClass.
8. Right-Click, select Modify, set Value data to: 3
9. Then Close Registry Editor.

- Create a power plan in windows, in the Power Options > Processor Power Management > Maximum Processor State, set it to 90%: anecdotally, the game runs as well as it normally would've but temperatures are significantly diminished, (credit to 0nemez) who theorizes that the game triggers a CPU boost upon startup but doesn't let go. You might also want to disabled boost mode while you're at it.

- Regardless of your AV (but especially if you use an offbrand one), create an exception (firewall/scanning) for the game folder in your anti-virus (credit to Baron).

If after administering the sacred rites, your controller still doesn't respond:
- Disable steam input (in the steam client)
- Launch the game from steam's big picture mode (Credit to Cron)
