Japan in WW II - Chrysanths and the Sword

설명
Customized East Asia map based on real elevation and terrain, more accurate than the base game scale (~30km/hex)

Three scenarios are available—1937, 1941, and 1944—each offering distinct challenges and strategic possibilities. From the initial sparks of war in China to the climax of the Allied counteroffensive, every scenario requires careful planning and a deep understanding of both the historical and alternate outcomes.

Available scenario
Chrysanths and the Sword 1937 (500 turns)
Chrysanths and the Sword 1941 (300 turns)
Chrysanths and the Sword 1944 (180 turns)

Situation Brief
The year is 1937. Japan, driven by the belief in its manifest destiny to lead Asia, embarks on an aggressive campaign of conquest, beginning with the invasion of China. Following the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, tensions explode into full-scale war. The Japanese military, fueled by the ideology of the Chrysanthemum and the Sword, moves swiftly to capture Beijing, Shanghai, and Nanjing. In this scenario, players take command at the outset of Japan's quest to dominate China.

By 1941, Japan’s ambitions have drawn it into a confrontation with the Western powers. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Empire seeks to cripple the American Pacific Fleet and seize control of vital territories throughout Southeast Asia. Japan’s armies are at their zenith, but so too are the risks. As the war spreads across the Pacific, every move must be calculated to maintain momentum and outmaneuver the Allied response.

By the year of 1944, and the tides of war have shifted against Japan. Operation Ichigo, the largest Japanese offensive of the war, is launched as a desperate attempt to reclaim lost ground in China and secure critical resources. The Allies are advancing on all fronts, from the beaches of Normandy in Europe to the Pacific islands of Saipan and Guam. Japan’s war machine is strained to the breaking point, but surrender is not an option.

Suggested Setup
  • Turn on morale rule
  • Turn on ZOC rule
  • Turn on Supply rule
  • Turn on Unit production time rule
  • Turn off Unit upkeep cost rule
  • Turn off manpower rule

Notes
  • It is recommended to play with Japan. If you choose UK or USA, it is recommended to play with 1941 & 1944 scenarios.
  • For Japanese players who want the most detailed game possible, set up a local PEBM game that commands both Manchukuo and Japan. Northern China being controlled by Manchukuo is a design that I hope simplifies the burden on the player.(It's a huge front line.)
  • End of all unit production year is set to 1950
  • Artillery units have a longer range
  • Considering the already huge size of the map, some countries and colonies in the South Pacific are not included in this mod for simplification reasons, and the Japanese player is considered to be completely defeated by the Allies in Southeast Asia after conquering Manila.
  • Aircraft speeds and fuel have generally increased.

@malberg
Due to HoS and map scale (>50 degrees difference in latitude from the equator to the northernmost point), setting up winter in this map is not considered suitable in my opinion, and the same is true for bad weather.
If you wish to add winter, here are the settings I recommend: enable winter in the editor and set all land north of Anxi (7,115) to Lianyungang (93,91) to allow winter. For sea ice extent please refer to NOAA or NSIDC Arctic Sea Ice data.
