Introduction to the guide
[GUIDE IS UPDATED AS OF 9TH NOVEMBER 2020]
Welcome,
with this guide I want to show (new) players a simple way of building your character(s) to easily sustain premium.
So far the guide is still WIP and only for the early levels of how you start your character to quickly generate silver. I will work on the guide until probably T6 - at that level there is no majorly new content I will have to explain and the system to generate silver still works the same.

The focus of this guide is leveling your combat gear to a certain level so that you can access all necessary zones - leveling your gathering ( + refining) to generate steady money by putting in playtime - farming on your personal island(s) to generate you passive income for 5-30 minutes playtime a day.

If you have problems following the guide just leave a comment and I will try to fix it.

Have fun and I hope you succeed in sustaining your premium just with ingame currency :)
First Character to T2
You just created your first Character.
Now you first do the tutorial, actually read the explanations to avoid further confusion!
This guide starts from when you choose your starter town.

At this point you should somehow know what kind of build you want to play primarily now on this character. If you want a safe bet just go with standard stuff like mage in cloth armor, bow in leather armor or tank in plate armor. Generally I suggest checking the characterbuilder on the official Albion Online website: https://albiononline.com/en/characterbuilder/
Or builds from people on the Killboard: https://albiononline.com/en/killboard
For beginners I personally would not recommend trying to mix their own custom non-standard build if they want to follow the mindset of this guide to quickly generate profits without losing time while releveling new equipment in the first 1-2 weeks. If you want to do that whatsoever, you should just check the Destinyboard (Hotkey: B) for all the different weapon and armor abilities and stats.

Moving on with a build in mind you want to talk to this guy:

and follow the questline Combat Training that he provides you with.

After you have completed this questline, you should now have a royal sigil.
If you don't have them anymore, get a Beginner's Axe; - Skinning Knife; - Pickaxe and - Sickle. You want to gather and refine 6x T2 (birch-) wood, 2x T2 (copper-) ore, 12x T2 (cotton) cloth, 12x T2 (rugged/stiff) leather and any other T2 resource you find in the city until you complete "Trainee Gatherer".
Now you check what biome you are in by the name of the city you're in ( xxx Cross or xxx Outpost ).
According to your biome I suggest you to craft the following tool at the Toolmaker Mountain: Pickaxe
Forest: Axe
Steppe: Skinning Knife
Highland: Pickaxe
Swamp: Sickle

Also you will craft a Novice's Bag at the Toolmaker (to select it, click the tab with the bag on it after crafting your tool).

You are now full equipped in T2 and ready to continue the journey into the lands of Albion.
