The White Forest Inn at the height of tourist season.

See it during the Combine occupation and during the uprising.

//Requirements//
Nothing else should be required. Everything should be packed into the map. The map file itself should be "gm_whiteforestinn_prewar" in the menu, minus the quotation marks.

Do note that while no game should be required, the size and scope of the map might cause some issues for users on lower end PCs despite rigorous optimization. As well, be aware that despite attempts to prevent conflicts, other workshop items might still conflict with assets used in the map.

//Gameplay//
  • All buildings and routes back and forth across the map have been made easily accessible, including the central tunnel
  • Summer aesthetic with repaired interiors, exteriors, roadways, more alive forests, overhead planes, and clear skies
  • Gas pumps at gas station can be deleted using the Remover tool to allow gas pumps from other addons and their cars.
  • Two different teleport destinations from a spawn room
  • Navmesh and nodegraph

While in the Gmod Sandbox mode, any dead bodies, blood stains, activated map scripts or other changes can be cleaned/reset using this: Pressing Q -> Utilities -> Admin -> Cleanup -> Cleanup Everything

//Development//
While I roughly had an idea of how I wanted this to look and play beforehand, getting the lighting right was quite difficult. Especially with the trees. I think I found a good compromise. Making the cleaner road was fun too and really adds something to the map and its pre-war aesthetic.

The central tunnel was a bit tricky since it is a curved ceiling and curves around a corner on top of bending downwards. I went with exposed cave wall. This helped ensure the brushes didn't break while also visually being something unique. I'm not sure it's the most realistic, but I think the different visuals offset this.
