Introduction
NOTE: Guide updated 14 September 2024. It is a work-in-progress and will continue to be updated. I will update this section with update notes as I continue to work through writing achievements. Guide currently covers 94/157 of the achievements. Additionally, please note that some achievements are currently broken and not obtainable.

Howdy! Welcome to my first ever Steam guide! This guide focuses on how to “knock out” all 157 achievements in Knock On The Coffin Lid, and includes the easiest and quickest way to achieve it! Please note this guide contains spoilers.
Boss Achievements
Story Achievements can be completed on any character, class, difficulty, and build. Please note that final map bosses in the Frontier, Rotten Bog, Crimson Wastes, and the Northern Gate are randomised each run, so it may take a few runs to successfully find and defeat all of them. There are currently 3 final boss variations for each area.

Story Bosses
Story Bosses only need to be encountered and defeated to obtain the achievement. I've listed them in order of appearance by map for convenience.

Map Events
Map Events are events that take place on the map. They require specific conditions to be fulfilled before the achievement unlocks.

How To Obtain
Sapper
Clear the bomb during the battle with Demoman in the "Bomber" event. Defeat Demoman first. Once he's defeated, a card to deactivate the bomb will appear
Gitte
Pacifier
Defeat the Bear in the "Ferocious bear" event without provoking its Inner Beast. Inner Beast is triggered when playing Skills
Howl your last
Allow the Pack Leader in the "Wolf Pack" event to use Howl 3 times, then defeat him
Whose is this?
Find the Nameless Thing in the "A Powerful Thirst" event in the Frontier. Choose "Look at the bottom" when presented with a choice
They call me mighty for a reason
Defeat three Veteran Dwarves in one turn. Can easily be done by unlocking the Golem and choosing to let him follow you
Nothing will save you
Kill Lycanthrope after Unity With Nature completely restores his health. Let him shift into a lycan, then lower his health enough he shifts back. Start playing guard cards until he restores health fully then defeat him
Sussie
Don't drag out with this
Kill the Sniper before the fifth turn. Can be easily done with Persival's Gold Digger class via the Wallet Strike card
To troll the troll
Kill a Troll during his Furiousness. Can be done in "The Troll" event by provoking the troll into Fury. Fury is triggered by playing 2 cards of the same type in a row, like Lunge or Guard
I'll leave you for sweet
Kill Philly first, then Killy
I am not your enemy
Force the Old Troll to kill the Chaser. Is random whether he turns on the Chaser. May take several runs for it to happen
Enough deaths for today
Leave at least one Archdruid ally alive
Magnamious
Leave the Champion's squire alive. Do not attack the Squire, just focus on the Champion
Without a scratch
Kill the Thug without taking any damage to health. Can be done easily with the Elven set applying evasion, or Persival's Gold Digger class to end the fight quickly

Crimson Waste Events
Crimson Waste takes place in the second map option. Go to the right-side boss in the Frontier to access the Crimson Waste.

Kill Gorbigon when there is none of his allies on the field
Main target
Finish Grum when both of his allies are on the field
Flirting with the victim
In the "Thresher" event, let Thresher complete the Initiative Interception, then kill him
Heavy arm
Kill Volg while he still has armour
Bounty hunter
Defeat the Golden Buffalo in the Crimson Wastes
Small and dashing
Find out the secret of the goblin's super power in the "Whose Side Are We On?" event in the Crimson Wastes. Choose to kill the orcs
It's a whistle
Find out the purpose of the mysterious item from the "Tumbleweed" event in the Crimson Wastes. Choose "Catch" on the Tumbleweed
The cup is yours
Become the champion of the Arena while being a vassal of Batu the Smart. Go to "Batu The Smart" event in the Crimson Wastes, choose to become a vassal, then go to the arena and win
Head to head
Kill Maarcharl Armadillo when he is not in a defensive stance
Just you and me
Kill the Worm first, then the Supreme Goblin
It's just not fair!
Kill Gruthalle before he applies resurrection. Can be done by focusing Gruthalle and leaving Maggoth alone until he's dead
Map Events II
Rotten Bog Events
Rotten Bog takes place on the second map, if you chose to go to the left side boss on the Frontier map.

Kill the Swollen Mite with at least 20 stacks of Rotting
Last meal
Kill Anthony after he eats his ally
Slam the boogers
Kill both mosquitoes with one hit. Can easily be done with Persival's "Cleave" card
Noli-boy
Kill the Ghoul without taking any damage to health
A fine day to exit
Die from Ghostly Mushroom poisoning after eating it 4 times. Can be found in the Rotten Bog event "Ghostly Mushrooms"
You bastard!
Search the corpse in the "Swamp Fever" event
Pathfinder
Find the right path in the "Gone Astray" event. Answer is: North, North, South, South, West, East, West, East, Go around the lake on the left, Go around the swamp on the right
No last supper for you
Avoid Devouring in the battle with the Thing
No second stages!
Kill the Cult Keeper before he resurrects
Insectophobia
Kill the Queen of Mites without injuring the Parasites

Northern Gate Events

Big baby
Try all the toys in "Bored Demon" event in the Northern Gate. It will take 4 runs to get them all
My precious
Give the Hungry Demon in the "Hungry Demon" event in the Northern Gate an item
Golden eye
Go to the "Golden Buffalo" event in the Crimson Wastes, defeat it, then path to the "Court Mage" event in the Northern Gate. Choose to give him the eye of the Golden Buffalo
Congratulations, you have won our prize draw!
Fight the Keeper of Greed in the Northern Gate. Prolong the battle and keep drawing the Black Box card until you get the the prize that instantly kills the Keeper of Greed
No fear
Kill the Source of Fears without playing Status cards
For good luck!
Break the Vessel of Deception before it steals cards
Explosive venture
Kill the Brother Commander, leaving him without armour. You must do 10 light attacks on him without killing him to leave him without armour before killing him
No need to rush
Kill Sigismund after he consumes the Guardian of Hate
Who the hell are you?
Defeat Millenis in the final boss battle

These achievements are character and/or class specific. The player must be playing this character or class to unlock it.

Multi-pass
Get a pass from the "Elven Hospitality" event in the Frontier by speaking to Markus, then show the pass to the elves in "Stop Or We'll Shoot!" event
Thanks won't fill my purse
Double the reward for saving the goblin in the "Last Flight" event in the Crimson Wastes. Choose "Save the Goblin" then choose to talk to them after
That's interested, but I don't understand anything
Pass the "Caravan" node in the Crimson Wastes several times and always choose "Pay". After the ~5th time of travelling with Nazim, the event will give you two new options. Pick "Go to the eastern border with the caravan" and win the fight to get Nazim's map
Gentle Huck
In the "Poor Troll" event, roll the dice to remove his sword. It may take several tries, but there is an instance where the dice will roll to remove his sword and choose to go with Persival
Mr. Persival, you disappoint me
In the "Dishonour" event in the Northern Gates, choose to bow down to the Advisor. It is a random dice roll to see if you dodge his spit. May take a few runs to be successful
Loons on goats
Go to the "Drunken Courage" event in the Frontier and give the dwarf an Elven Ale (can be obtained as a starting bonus), click "Wait for the dwarf to wake up", then "Leave". Restart your run then path to the "Guard Outpost" event and start the fight. On the second entry to "Guard Outpost", there will be an option that appears to tell them about the drunken dwarf. Achievement will unlock after

Persival (Versatile)

How To Obtain
Signature left-hander
Defeat the Troll and the Chaser boss in the Frontier to obtain Shackles. Equip them and unequip your weapon and shield. Deal damage with the Left-Hander card and finish off the enemy with the Right-Hander card

Persival (Gold Digger)

How To Obtain
Money is dust
Spend at least 500 gold in battle. Can be done with the Wallet Strike card

Persival (Knight)

How To Obtain
Untarnished honor
Fulfil all the Vows. Can only be done on level 5 of the Knight class by obtaining "A Knight's Vow" card, which is random. All 9 Vows are completed cumulatively. If the achievement doesn't pop, its likely you failed or missed a Vow somewhere
Pride of the nation
Start a battle in the ful Righteous Knight set. All pieces of the set can be found in this guide

Persival (Veteran)

Next thing you know
Kill an enemy with Prepared Attack. Attack is exclusive to Veteran's Eye Patch item. Eye Patch has a higher chance of dropping from the right side of the map in the Crimson Waste


Bjorn (Any)

Crash test
Practise 3 times in a row in the "Zombie Haul" event in the Rotten Bog. The button is a dice-roll, so you have to hope you get three good rolls in a row to unlock the achievement. If not, keep playing and trying
You wouldn't imagine how possible it is to be the first
Go to the "Wolf Pack" event in the Frontier, choose "Wait", then "Turn into a Lycan" then "Staring Contest" to unlock the achievement
Gate-crasher
Go to the "Gatekeeper" event in the Northern Gate and choose to "Observe". If successful, it'll let you leave and the achievement will pop

Start a battle in full Lunar Druid set. All pieces are random drops. Try to visit shops and treasure chests when you can to increase the likelihood of finding pieces

Miscellaneous Achievements
Miscellaneous Achievements are achievements that are not story related and require multiple play throughs to unlock. Some are tied to events, while others require you to fulfill conditions in battle to unlock.

What am I doing here?
Bring an ally into the final battle against Millenis or Mortis. An Ally can be recruited via Persival's Knight class, by befriending Huck as Persival, or recruiting an ally at the Bandit Camp in the Frontier
Deadly skill
Kill an enemy without playing a single attack. Can be done by recruiting an ally as Persival's Knight class and defending, or by equipping armour from the Barbed set to kill an enemy passively while defending
Annihilation canon
Deal more than 1000 damage with one attack. Can be done by obtaining the Champion's Sword (non-set item) and using the card that comes with it called the Champion's Strike, dealing damage equal to 30% of the target's HP. Recommended for the final boss
Thousand blows from the heavens
Win a battle in 1 turn. Can be done easily with the Boar fights at the beginning of the game in the Frontier
Sommelier
Drink at least 20 potions of any type in one game. Can easily be done with the "Supply" card (which is a random drop) and/or buying out all the potions in the shops
You can't escape me
Kill an enemy with the intention of escape
Play it safe
Play the Jab card 28 times in one battle. Jab card comes from the Lance weapon which is a random loot
Efreet
Accumulate more than 100 Burning on the hero. Can be done with the Fire Fanatic set
Heavy means reliable
Start a battle with 6 Burdened cards in the deck
Oh well, here we go again
Die
Drunken master
Drink 3 Elven Ales in one battle. Accumulate ales at the shop and/or as treasure chest rewards
He who laughs last
Kill the Assassin after he uses Jeer
I'm with the dwarves today
Start a battle with the Assassin with an item from the Thundering Mountain set
Blinded by blood
Start a battle in full Crimson set. Has highest chance of dropping in the Rotten Bog, as well as appearing in the shops there
It's just a runny nose
Start a battle in full Cursed set. Items commonly found in the Rotten Bog. Shoes Drop from the "Dying Bandit" event in the Frontier, Sword drops from "Cursed Collector" in the Frontier, and Description of Rituals dropped in the Rotten Bog at the "Ritualist Church" event
I'm something of a dwarf myself
Start a battle in full set of the Thundering Mountain. Pieces drop randomly, but have a higher chance of appearing in the Frontier
No self-preservation
Start a battle in full set of the Crimson Steppes. Pieces drop randomly, but have a higher chance of appearing in the Crimson Wastes
Do not touch!
Start a battle in full Barbed set. Items found in the Crimson Wastes and the Worm Spike is a drop from the "Gorbigon" event

just got the excalibur achievement for pulling the sword out of the anthill in the frontier, this one is not very obvious but the anthill can be found in the bear event in the far right path of the first map.

I chose to let the pet lead me instead of fighting the bear and I stumbled upon the anthill, I had the fox pet not sure if the pet type matters and it might be RNG where you end up.

Obviously have to play as Vanadis since it is an achievement specifically for her.

Blood sport achievement - go to the dishonor event and approach the demon and ask for advice. You may need to visit several times as he gives different advice each time, On the next run stop by the orc who hunts the big worm in crimson stepps and tell him about the the fat demon. Go to the far demon at the dishonor event and you'll be able to place a bet.

I think the my precious is you need to get the whistle fromthe tumbleweed in the crimson waste (to identify its a whistle go to a shop in crimson waste and ask about it) and then hit up the hungry deamon? or it may be the honey comb from the frontier or a boars leg i can't remember

anyone have luck with the "you disappoint me mr perseval" achievement, I have probably tried the dishonor event, bowed down and not attacked like 50 times

It's a whistle- catch the shiny object in the tumbleweed in crimson waste(achievable in one go but make sure you bring health potions as each unsuccessful attempt/die roll lowers health). Then go to a shop in crimson waste and ask the shop keep what it is - poped for me

Tips for "If he dies, he dies": Do not let the Ritualist reborn as a zombie. You have to go to the Church in the swamp to attempt this achieve. This is trick because he has 125 armour when he dies the first time. Attacks that pierce armour can be used here. Additionally, the Frostbite effect deals damage to HP and ignores block. A non-RNG based strategy for this achievement is: go to the church and get to 10 connection, when you kill the Ritualist, summon Hoogin who will deal 10 Frostbite and deal 20 straight to HP.
