Fix for the game not responding after pressing play on the launcher.

Press play on stream and open the launcher for the game
Enter your username and password and log into the game (don't press play yet)
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY XIV Online\boot and find the file named steam_api64.dll
Rename the file to steam_api64-bak.dll
Go back to the laucher and press play

*Renaming steam_api64.dll before opening the launcher from steam will cause to launcher to not open

An easier method!

1: Open launcher and log in.
2: BEFORE you press play, open task manager and close steam, the launcher won't close.
3: Press play, the game will now work as it should!

To use the Steam overlay: When you press play, open Steam at the same time. Don't interact with the game yet (don't click on the window) and open the launcher again through Steam. When you open the game window, you'll see you can now access the Steam overlay.
