Intro
This guide will show you how to run the game on modern Windows OS using dgVoodoo2.
I was able to complete the game using the fixes below.

The dgVoodoo2 solution is based on this thread and validated by community members:
Discussion: Screen Flashing
On my machine there was broken rendering with a white screen / flashing (Windows 10 22H2 Update).
Install dgVoodoo2 and dinput.dll fix
dgVoodoo2 will translate the DirectX 6 API used by the game to recent DirectX versions.

As addition I recommend to also install the dinput.dll fix as it stabilized the game a lot on my machine.
But native controller support was broken on my end anyway and I had to switch to a Xbox-Controller-To-Keyboard-Input solution (I own a Xpadder licence - there are multiple free alternatives available).

Because I can not verify that the dinput fix will not affect native controller support, please test your device before installing the dinput.dll to your Resource folder
dgVoodoo2
Download the latest version of dgVoodoo2 from here:
https://github.com/dege-diosg/dgVoodoo2/releases
(I completed the game with version dgVoodoo v2.82.3 = dgVoodoo2_82_3.zip)

Right click on "Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine" in your steam library.
Click on "Properties" -> "Installed Files" -> "Browse...". You now have a explorer window with your game installation. Open the subfolder "Resource"

Use the explorer to open your "Downloads" folder
Unzip the downloaded archive dgVoodoo2_82_3.zip and navigate to "\dgVoodoo2_82_3\MS\x86"
Copy ALL content of folder "\dgVoodoo2_82_3\MS\x86" to "steamapps\common\Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine\Resource"

Go to the folder "\dgVoodoo2_82_3\"
Copy "dgVoodoo.conf" & "dgVoodooCpl.exe" to "steamapps\common\Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine\Resource"

Double-Click dgVoodooCpl.exe from your "...\Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine\Resource" folder.
Go to tab "Direct X" and uncheck "dgVoodoo Watermark"

dinput.dll
(Credits to reigan42 steam guide here)

Download the dinput wrapper dll here:
https://github.com/riverar/IndirectInput/releases/tag/0.1

Unzip dinput_0.1_win10_x86.zip in your Downloads folder
Copy "dinput.dll" to "steamapps\common\Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine\Resource"

Your "...\Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine\Resource" folder should now look like this:

Final
You can now launch the game from your steam library like you normally would.

Hope this guide helps you, running this gem to your machine! :)

Most likely the game will crash on chapter 7 entering Palawan temple.
This is not a rendering/dgvoodoo2 issue. Follow the bug-fix solution of user Debosy here: Bug starting level 7

The OpenJones3D project fixes all issues running the game on modern OS.
No need to use any directx wrappers to run the game.

Follow the guide carefully and verify the files are there first (dgvoodoo2 archive). If files from the game itself are missing, use steam function "verify game files" to check your Indy installation.

I tried this and it worked indeed.
Now I can start the game running on windows 11.
For those who had problems during the download and the unziping:

dgVoodooCpl.exe is the data without .exe at the end and the image (if u still have problems finding it, it should look like the one he selected in the image).

Thank you very much for your guide.

I'm sorry to say this didn't seem to work for me. Then again, I am missing some .dll files, so maybe that's user error. :SonicManiaItemBox:
