Radio-wise he didn't sound like he got eaten - just grabbed by soldiers who wanted to stop the broadcast. I really hope he returns as an NPC for build 42 - with maybe some radio gadget themed quests/trades."

As a person that lives in the IRL universe and has the nearly the same capital letters as my name. I can surely agree to this being what we kentuckians do in the bluegrass. While Louisville is sometimes being flooded by the Ohio river.

It definitely sounds to me on the radio like the zombies got him. That said, I've always liked to imagine he slipped away and is now a shotgun-toting journalist roaming the apocalypse in the old LBMW newsvan.
