A similar problem occurs in diplomacy. With so many nations, and the list of Allies gets large, information at the bottom of the tool tip is cut off. I suspect making more columns would do the trick (such as a column for Allies, one for Axis, and more for other diplomatic info).
Also Generals aren't giving bonuses because they don't have any unit filters checked. I don't know how many are missing their unit filters, but I checked Guderian, for example, and he should have armored and gun (artillery and anti-tank) unit filters checked, but has none.
One observation. When I save and then try to leave the game for either the main menu or quit the program it takes over 3 minutes to do so. It could be a problem with my 8 year old computer but I thought I would mention this here in case anyone else is seeing this.
