Introduction
Ghost of Tsushima - 100% Achievement Guide

You are required to have a PlayStation Network account to be able to 100% this game due to the achievements in 'Legends' mode, aka the multiplayer.

You can't get all achievements in a single run because two of the achievements are tied to New Game+. Beating the game again and buying any item from a vendor named Baku are required for those achievements. Other than those two, you can get all the achievements after beating the main story, so there are no missable achievements.

Don't start a New Game+ before completing all the other achievements most of the collectibles wont carry over

Difficulty doesn't matter for single player achievements and its freely adjustable throughout the playthrough

It is much easier to find collectibles after beating the main story

You can visit the Iki Island (DLC) region at the start of Act 2(The Journey to the Past), but I would recommend waiting until you have beaten the main game. The enemies there are slightly more difficult, and it makes more sense from a roleplayer’s perspective to go after completing the main game’s story. It would be weird for the protagonist to go to another island while Tsushima is being invaded

Note that the multiplayer mode achievements are going to take a while (let's be generous and say 20 hours) and can be frustrating for some due to the coordination needed in raids. You might want to join the official Discord to find a group for that https://discord.gg/ghostoftsushima

For me personally i did the raids with randoms got lucky with people having mics and knowing what to do so it only took me 4 to 5 hours for 3 raids

There isn't really much detail I can go into due to this game being an open-world, free-roam, exploration game. Liberate a camp, and all points of interest in the area will be shown on the map, except for the "Honor the Unseen" achievement and a few others

Quick mention of the charm of Inari highly recommend you get it asap it can potentially double all upgrade materials you find like supplies, bamboo, steel, linen and so on.
You can find it by scaling up the Arrow Peak Shrine found in the first area of the game

I didn't want the introduction to be this long, so I'm going to stop it here. I hope this guide will help you at least a little bit. This has become one of my favorite games of all time, so I just had to make it. \o/

Mainland Sidequests
Journal -> Tales of Tsushima to check for the specific questline

The game allows you to play the key side character tales out of order, so don't be surprised if you see something like Masako Tale 5 on the map before completing the others. Check the journal if you want to go through them in order

The Warrior Monk Complete all of Norio's tales.

The Vengeful Warrior Complete all of Masako's tales.

The Unbending Archer Complete all of Ishikawa's tales.

The Headstrong Thief Complete all of Yuna's tales.

Teller of Tales Complete all of the Mythic tales. There are a total of 7 Mythic tales you have to complete:

  • The Six Blades of Kojiro

  • The Unbreakable Gosaku

  • The Spirit of Yarikawa's Vengeance

  • The Undying Flame

Helping Sword Hand Complete all of the tales of Tsushima. There are 61 side quests. Most side quests can be located by talking to NPCs, while others pop up while you're running around and exploring There are three quests highlighted in red. If your game isn't bugged, there's almost a 100% chance that one of these three quests is the one blocking you (The Cost of Fear, A Debt Repaid, or A Mother's Peace) If you're missing any quests, it will be tedious, but you'll need to go through your completed quests in the journal menu. Compare each one you’ve completed against the 61 quests listed below. This is the only way to identify which quests you haven't done yet. Once you find the missing quests, Google their locations, go there, complete them, and claim your achievement. or you can just use this website https://mapgenie.io/ghost-of-tsushima/guides/quests
Combat achievements
Flash of Steel Defeat 20 enemies with a counterattack after a Perfect Parry If you're struggling with the Perfect Parry, head to the Spring Falls Shrine in Komoda and climb it to get the Mizu-No-Kami Charm, which makes parrying easier If, for whatever reason, you still don't have the achievement upon reaching the Iki Island DLC, you can obtain the 'Sarugami Armor' to further assist you. It's unlocked by completing the mythic tale 'The Legend of Black Hand Riku'

Open for Business Successfully Stagger enemies 50 times If you've forgotten how to stagger enemies, simply spam heavy attacks until you break open their guard. Using the correct stance will also make this easier

Witness Protection Shoot a Terrified enemy with an arrow while they are fleeing At the start of the game you wont be able to do this because your reputation is bad the mongols arent afraid of you so just keep progressing through the game to grow your reputation But winning standoffs is going to be your primary way of getting this achievement, equip the "Ghost" armor or "Sakai Clan" armor to have a 30% / 25% of terrifying enemies (Sakai clan armor is needed for the achievement below this one so recommend leveling it to 6 first)

All in the Wrist Defeat the maximum amount of enemies within a single Standoff You're going to need two things for this achievement: Improved Standoff Streak and Sakai Clan Armor Level IV(6)
  • Improved Standoff Streak is found in Evolving Tactics(Techniques -> Ghost -> Evolving Tactics)

  • Sakai Clan Armor is obtained during story tale "Ghosts From the Past" during act 2
hardest thing in this is easily upgrading the armor to level 6

Have a Nice Fall Kill an enemy with fall damage by knocking them off a ledge With the "Wind" stance, use the charged heavy attack to yeet them off from a high place. It is recommended to do this before liberating all outposts so you don't run out of enemies in high places

Haunting Precision Kill 20 enemies with Ghost Stance strikes Just keep doing the story and you will unlock the "Ghost" Stance
Character Specific
Quick Study Learn the Stone, Water, Wind, and Moon combat stances. As you liberate camps, farmsteads, forts, etc., you will come across leaders within these encounters. If you observe the leader first before defeating them, you will make more progress towards unlocking a stance

Every Trick in the Book Acquire all the throwable Ghost Weapon techniques. Each time you increase your legend, you can unlock a new throwable ghost weapon technique (up to 5 times). Additionally, you need to use a technique point to unlock the Firecracker

The Perfect Storm Fully upgrade your sword Upgrade the katana to Level VII(7) the short one doesnt count

A Charming Man Equip a charm in all 6 slots. To unlock more charm slots you need to pray at Inari Shrines pretty self explanatory

The Ghost of Legend Build your Legend to earn the title Ghost of Tsushima Obtained after increasing your legend level 10 times you can increase it by completing quests, liberating mongol territories, random encounters etc

Gifted Collect 10 gifts As you complete side missions, main missions or generally help out saving innocents lives/breaking Mongol holds on towns, gifts are dropped off at the altar.
Mainland Exploration
Liberation achievement locations are automatically marked on the map after completing the story. Finishing these will help you see collectibles on the map

The Have a Nice Fall combat achievement is highly recommended to complete while liberating outposts, so you don't run out of enemies in high places

Good Riddance Liberate 8 occupied areas in Toyotama

Mass Eviction Liberate 7 occupied areas in Kamiagata

A Fight for the isle Liberate all occupied areas in Izuhara

A New safe haven Liberate all occupied areas in Kamiagata

Once you have it, you need to equip it (Gear -> Accessories) Singing Crickets can be found in small cages in various cemeteries. They are easy to find; just listen for chirping Then, fast travel to east coast of Yarikawa Taka's Grave. walk up to the mound and play the song

Monochrome Masters Purchase an item from the black and white dye merchants
  • You can find the White Dye Merchant in the first region of the game, Izuhara. Look around the Wanderer's Pass area; the merchant will be at the base of the watchtower

  • The Black Dye Merchant is located in the second region, Toyotama. Search around Kawamata Village; the merchant is inside a small cave

Cooper Clan Cosplayer Dress up as a legendary thief You're going to need to get 3 pieces of customization and a dye option Gosaku's Armor, Crooked Kama headband, Sly Tanuki sword kit and Blue Ocean's Guardian Dye
  • Gosaku's Armor is obtained by completing "The Unbreakable Gosaku" mythic tale

  • Crooked Kama headband is Found atop the pagoda at Jogaku Temple in Kamiagata

  • Sly Tanuki sword kit is Obtained from a Pillar of Honor along the Kamiagata coast, east of Iwai Village

  • Blue Ocean's Guardian dye can be purchased from many Toyotama merchants for 10 flowers

A Moment in Time Personalize a scene in photo mode P to open photo mode with mouse&keyboard, then play around with the settings in the bottom left corner
Mainland Collectibles
The best strategy is to liberate all Mongol Territories first, as this will reveal the map (they get marked on the map automatically after completing the story)

Artifacts and Records don't appear on your map, but you can use your Traveler's Attire to track them down

Traveler's Attire is a very useful armor set for exploration and collectible hunting. Additionally, if you open the map and look in the bottom left corner, you can press the Guiding Wind Target button (G for mouse & keyboard by default) to track specific collectibles

Check out this map website https://mapgenie.io/ghost-of-tsushima if needed. It's probably the best one out there; it even has a 100% checklist

There Can Be Only One Succesfully complete every duel There are 25 duels and they are found within the story(6), secondary tales(15) and mongol territories(4) they pretty much are the "boss" fights of this game

Slay Acquire 30 pieces of Vanity Gear Just collect Horse Saddles, Sword Kits, Armor Dyes, Headbands and Masks you can buy them from merchants, collect from pillars of honors etc this one should come naturally

Light The Way Rekindle all the lighthouses of tsushima There is a weird bug with this achievement: even if you light all 8 lighthouses, the achievement won't pop up. People have fixed it by fast traveling from lighthouse to lighthouse Another thing to try is visiting an old save where you didn't visit the Iki Islands' lighthouses and then using the method mentioned above. For some reason, the DLC seems to bug out the achievement too If all else fails, this achievement should be doable in the New Game+ run you need to complete anyway for 100% achievements. It still sucks, and the developers should fix it as soon as possible (I think it's been a problem for 3 years now—wtf??!!)

Favor of the Kami Find and honor all of the shinto shrines on tsushima There are a total of 16 Shinto Shrines(climbing mountain "puzzles") spread out across Tsushima and they can all be seen on the map as points of interests

Lost and Found Discover a pillar of honor and collect its sword kit Total of 23 Pillar of Honor locations spread out across Tsushima but you only have to find 1 Good to note that the Samurai exploration skill tree has a Wind of Vanity Guiding Wind that will take you to all 23 of these

Avid Reader Collect 20 records There are a total of 40 records spread across Tsushima, but you only need to collect 20 Use the Guiding Wind Target button bottom left when looking at the map to set them as a priority

Know Your Enemy Collect 20 mongol artifacts There are a total of 50 Mongol Artifacts spread across Tsushima, but you only need to collect 20 Use the Guiding Wind Target button bottom left when looking at the map to set them as a priority

Body, Mind, and Spirit Complete all Hot Springs, Haiku, Inari Shrines, and Bamboo Strikes. There are a total of 18 Hot Springs, 19 Haiku spots, 49 Inari Shrines and 16 Bamboo Strikes which means there are a total of 102 spots you have to find If you want to you can spend Technique Points to buy the locations of X collectable in the Samurai exploration skill tree Highly advised to wait until you finish the game and get the "Master Liberator" achievement to see every collectable on the map with a "?" mark

Honor The Unseen Bow to 10 hidden altars across Tsushima There are 35 Hidden Altars spread out across tsushima but you only have to find 10 Hidden Altars are always marked with a small sign that has a bowing gesture on it. Go next to the sign and bow; a special effect should play to indicate you got it (flowers flying, fish jumping, a bird appearing, fireflies, etc.) These do not show up on the map so you have to use the power of the google map (i swear im not a lazy guide maker it would just look really scuffed if i put pictures of the locations and how it looks when you're there)
Living Legend
Living Legend Obtain all base game achievements New Game+, Iki island and Legends mode(multiplayer) achievements are NOT required for the Living Legend achievement If the achievement is not unlocking for you even though you've completed everything, there was a bug some time ago, and this is what the developer said: "Thanks everyone for sharing details on this! We've investigated and it looks to be related to the "A Moment in Time" achievement sometimes not registering correctly when using a mouse. This will be resolved in a future patch, for now you can use this workaround: Open Photo Mode and toggle some changes. Make sure to not use the mouse, but use the keyboard or a gamepad. This should unlock the "A Moment in Time" achievement. If you have all other achievements, "Living Legends" should also unlock."
Iki island Story and sidequests
Out of the Past Survive the Eagle's medicine and bid farewell to a new friend. Simply complete the story of the DLC to unlock this achievement. (remember to go and talk to fune afterwards for a quest)

Friend to All Raiders Complete all Tales of Iki To get this achievement, you must complete all the Tales of Iki: 9 story quests and 7 secondary tales All of them are marked on the map and are relatively easy to complete, but one mission requires special attention:
  • In "A Helping Hand," you need to assist a young man in constructing his house. You must locate him in three different areas and provide the necessary supplies:
    • North of Tatsu's Ladder: 3x Yew Wood
    • Northeast of Lake Nagata (hidden among the flowers): 6x Predator Hides
    • Shipwreck at Zasho Bay: 10x Iron

    https://mapgenie.io/ghost-of-tsushima/guides/quests useful for finding quests

The Benefit of All Beings Build your Legend on Iki Island to earn the title Legacy Redeemer. You will get this just by playing the main story on Iki Island and completing the two mythic tales

The Butcher Redeemed Liberate Iki Island by defeating the Eagle and driving the invaders from Mongol territory. Simply complete all 9 Tales of Iki story and liberate the 4 Mongol Territories, just explore the island to find them and liberate them like in the main game

Treasures of the Past Complete all Mythic Tales on Iki Island. There are 2 Mythic Tales on Iki Island to complete to get this achievement:
  • The Legend of Black Hand Riku: Start location - Fune's Refuge
  • The Legacy of Kazumasa Sakai: Start location - near Zasho Bay (You can't have Sakai Clan armor equipped)

Elegy for Kazumasa Complete all Memories of Your Father. Quick missions where Jin will remember special events from the past there are 5 of them and they can all be seen on the map so just explore the island, liberate camps to see them

Common Courtesy Discover and complete all unwritten tales on Iki Island. Unwritten tales are missions that will NOT appear on the map. There are 5 of them: (there is actually 6 but source trust me bro its not a requirement for the achievement anymore)
  • 1. Near the coast, at a shipwreck north of Sly Hunter's Forest: Simply walk up to the body and interact with it to lay him to rest and finish the story

  • 2. At a hut south of the Old Gambler's Wood map marker: Assist Hachibee in protecting his bees from Mongol attacks

  • 3. A little north of Senjo Gorge: interact with the Sakai clan banner at the burned house. Kodama will speak to you and assign a task to eliminate the Mongols near the purple-leafed trees. After completing the task, return to the burned house and collect supplies and a scroll from the tree stump

  • 4. At the Buddha's Footprints map marker: Rescue the peasants being drowned by the Mongols in the ponds. Quickly eliminate all the enemies in the area to save them

  • 5. At the Raider Memorial map marker, south of Buddha's Footprints: Complete the Archery Challenge at the Raider Memorial. Equip the "Tadayori Armor" and speak with the raider to begin the challenge
Iki Island Exploration / Collectibles
Just like the mainland achievements, it's recommended to wait until you've completed the DLC story and liberated all camps before starting to hunt for collectibles

Check out this map website https://mapgenie.io/ghost-of-tsushima if needed. It's probably the best one out there; it even has a 100% checklist

Pride of ishikawa Achieve bronze or higher on all Archery Challenges. There are 8 Archery Challenges, with 7 of them shown on the map, while the 8th is an unwritten tale. Check the 'Common Courtesy' achievement for it

Chiyoko's Song Complete all Animal Sanctuaries. There are 9 Animal Sanctuaries in total, and they can all be seen on the map

A Few Splinters Complete all bokken duels at the Hidden Cove Tournament. The Hidden Cove tournament takes place in Fune's Refuge. This is a bokken tournament where you'll face four different opponents using a wooden stick. To win a match, you must land five hits on the enemy
  • Owan "Exiled Monk": Use the Moon Stance, perform heavy attacks, and dodge; never parry

  • Kai "Brutal Raider": Use any stance and dodge to the right, moving behind him

  • Take "Murderous Merchant": Use any stance and perform perfect parries

  • Sao "Crimson Fisherman": Use the Water Stance, perform charged heavy attacks, and pray to God

Well-Rounded Warrior Complete all Haiku, Hot Springs(Onsen), Shinto Shrines, and Bamboo Strikes on Iki Island. There are a total of 3 Haiku spots, 2 Hot Springs, 1 Shinto Shrines and 4 Bamboo Strikes which means there are a total of 10 spots you have to find Nothing special to say about this one its exactly the same as the one in mainland

Blood on Your Hands Purchase an item from the Crimson Dye Merchant and obtain a dye for your Sakai Horse Armor. To unlock this achievement, you need to meet two requirements:
  • First, unlock the 'Dye Merchant' by completing the 'A Few Splinters' achievement. After winning the tournament, talk to the merchant west of Tatsu's Ladder and purchase any item of your choice

  • The other requirement is unlocking the 'Horse Armor Dye Merchant,' which is done by completing the 'The Legacy of Kazumasa Sakai' mythical tale. To obtain a dye from this merchant, you must also find six Sakai Clan Banners and bring them to him southwest of Zasho Bay

Monkey see Embody the spirit of the monkey on Saruiwa Make your way to Saruiwa's Monkey Sanctuary, located south of Sarubashi/Gonoura Cape(bottom left of the island) This task is similar to completing a Shinto Shrine but on a much larger scale. You need to find and interact with three monkey statues in specific ways
  • Monkey covering its ears = Play the flute
  • Monkey covering its eyes = Use a smoke bomb
  • Monkey covering its mouth = Bow (a cutscene may or may not play)
You'll know you have successfully interacted with each statue if a small cutscene plays afterward After interacting with all three statues, finish the climb to the top and play the flute while standing on the round stone tile in front of the large rock monkey
New Game+
Grand Opening Purchase something from Baku the Voiceless in New Game+. You may have already obtained this in your first playthrough if you linked your PlayStation account to get the "Archery Master's Attire" armor set If you didn't, you will find Baku right at the start of New Game+. You will need to use a currency called "Ghost Flowers" to buy items from him. To obtain Ghost Flowers, complete story and side missions once again

A Legend for All time Complete Jin's Journey in New Game+ Yep gotta do the entire story again in New Game+
Multiplayer
You can start out with any class; it doesn't really matter, but always remember to equip the highest ki gear possible to reach the bare minimum ki required for raids

Use Discord for finding groups, especially for raids, but they're doable in normal matchmaking. It just may take a lot longer than you would think https://discord.gg/ghostoftsushima

Promising Start Complete a legends mode story Do the Legends Mode story. It's pretty self-explanatory; you have to go through them in order. Also, remember to switch up the difficulty to silver when you unlock it.

Champions of the Kami Win a Legends Rival Match This is a 4-player 2v2 PvE game mode where you spawn on opposite sides, and the team that kills x amount of mobs first wins It is possible to just do this achievement with matchmaking off

A painful blockage summon five shades in a single rivals match In the 4-player 2v2 mode, after killing Onis, you pick up Magatamas (blue currency), which you can use to buy shades (5 for 1 shade) near the spawn area It is possible to get this achievement with matchmaking off. If you miss it in the first offline rivals match, just REMATCH and keep summoning NORMAL shades in both matches

True Understanding Complete all Legends mode stories on a single difficulty Easy peasy complete the 9 story missions in legends mode on a single difficulty most likely going to be completed on silver

Ultimate Truth complete the final wave in a gold survival It should be relatively straightforward; simply opt for quickplay on a gold survival difficulty. However, if you encounter any difficulties, consider using the official Discord to find a group

Self Actualized reach rank 20 in any role Swap classes after reaching rank 20 for the other achievement, which requires all classes to be at rank 20

Honor bound bind a piece of gear to a class. To bind a piece of gear, you need to have a level 110 piece of gear. Go to a character and select a piece of gear that is level 110. Then, go to modifications and select the bottom option for Active Mastery Challenge; this will permanently bind it to that class

Cursed No More purify a cursed piece of gear When you receive gear, you have a random chance to receive a cursed piece of gear, which will be a red item. Equip it in order to purify it and check the challenge that needs to be done. Then, hop on any gold difficulty mission to complete it.

Ultimate Warrior reach rank 20 with all roles. It's pretty self-explanatory: just switch as soon as you reach rank 20 with a class. Also, it's most likely your last online mode achievement.

Transcendence Complete all 3 raid chapters The three raids in Ghost of Tsushima are challenging and complex, especially if you're going in blind. Some players have reported spending up to 4 hours on a single raid. Here are some key points to keep in mind:
  • During raids, there are no quest indicators to guide you on what to do; you have to figure it out on your own

  • In raids, there are no restrictions on the number of deaths. If a player or squad is defeated, they'll respawn at the last checkpoint

  • In the chapter 2 raid, it's highly unlikely that everyone will be looking at the 'puzzle' solutions, so it's essential for at least one player to have a mic and give callouts

  • If you're playing with randoms and one player leaves, you might be unable to finish the raid, particularly if you're already 1 hour in, depending on the specific stage of the raid

  • You can't join a raid in progress through matchmaking, but you can invite friends from your friend list

A good spot to get Have a Nice Fall is the Tsutsu lighthouse, there's an archer at the top just asking to be this is tsushima'd 2 storeys down
Also if an enemy falls into water and drowns it doesn't count no matter the height so checking what's below is a good idea if you're attempting it at the coastline

Nvm I'm stupid and didn't realise I actually needed the Sly Cooper achievement to get Living Legend lol

@Cullub i'm sure you tried everything but here https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3251781875 this might be of help hopefully

Anyone else still having issues unlocking the lighthouse trophy? I've tried everything, including what the developers said but still nothing and I *really* don't want to have to wait till NG+ to get the Living Legend achievement

Yeah, that's true, it might not be a spoiler, but I would still recommend playing the DLC after finishing the main game because the story adapts to the content you've already completed. Also, the Iki Island storyline makes the most sense for Jin if you do it after he becomes the Ghost. Besides, Iki Island clearly takes place after the main story

I'll still have to fix some grammar issues in the guide and reword certain parts :er_wave:

So yes, you're absolutely correct. But it just doesn't seem fitting to start the DLC straight from Act 2
Venomousbeetle 16 Jun @ 5:11am
It’s actually a misconception that you get spoilers in Iki. You should finish it before the main game. When Jin says “Khotun Khan is dead and a thousand samurai are coming” early in the story he is bluffing.

The flashbacks/hallucination that can occur also only show what quests you have done, it doesn’t show anything from sidequests/main quest that hasn’t been completed.

They put the starting point in act 2 area for a reason, and accounted for whether the player has actually finished the game or not.

How long did it take you all to 100%?
Butters 11 Jun @ 10:01am
@theMaulPaul, I did it solo just now, just do 5 regulars (need to wait for the first shade to be killed before you can spawn in another)
