This has been there since before launch. I'd be surprised to see it change.

Do you have an example of a game that is both cross platform, and mostly online but DOES NOT have the same requirement.

Take Warframe (owned by Tencent) as an example. Game is cross-platform, game is mostly online, game requires a third party login. Would wierd if someone was worried about an evil corporation to just up and hand the same power to Tencent.
