"In January - March of 2023 I had a level design project to build a level inspired by the Witcher 3's Baron Village in Unreal 5. This assignment was an individual project and I was given three months to work on this project. The Castor Village had to have a lower half of the village beneath the Baron's manor. The poorer half needed a tavern, blacksmith, Church, and at least 4 village homes. Behind the blacksmith shop was a secret cave that led into the basement of the Baron's manor. The professor allowed us to use assets and props from UE marketplace and Quixel Megascans for the assignment.

(All props except for most of the fauna were placed manually without any auto-placement or auto-gen)

(Story)
For my project, I chose to have my "hero" path begin in the forest, just outside of my village. The players would encounter the main road that led to the village gates as they emerged from the forest. The village's church and market are located next to the fountain, which is located in the middle of the crossroads. The blacksmith is past the market. I made the decision to include a hidden shrine dedicated to a dark deity inside the hidden cave. The dungeon would be encountered by players if they went past the shrine. The baron got his nickname "Bloody Baron" because everyone in the community who disagreed with him would end themselves in the dungeon. The Bloody Baron, being a sick-minded and cruel man, believes that the blood and suffering of prisoners add flavor to the Baron's wine."
