Introduction
Hello! Thank you for looking at my guide. This is a WIP and other hints, tricks, etc would be appriciated. I'll tell you what I know about Movement, Shooting, Grenades, Squad Control (AI) and possibly more! (WIP)
Movement
Movement is a key aspect to surviving the tough world that is ARMA because if you don't think about how and where you are moving you will get shot and killed. The most important tip I can give you is to move crouched because when you are crouched and starting to move you stand up and move very slightly slower but, when you stop your soldier goes crouched. It also helps shooting accuracy and allows you to stand up or go prone quicker than standing and then going prone. Be careful when you sprint because your soldier goes out of crouch mode and into standing mode!

In an urban enviorment you should( possibly MUST) peek around the corners of buildings/other debris (Q and E default). Move from cover to cover! If you think an corner is safe and you must move in the open then sprint to your next cover or location. Don't just look straight in front of you; look up, left, right, behind and forward. Even though alot of ARMA buildings you cannot go into or out of I would still look up at rooftops and windows just for practice incase you spot a enemy sniper at one of those few windows. :)

When in the open, like a field/plain type area, I would move fast but also keep an eye out for any possible cover whether its a small hill or crik that could come useful in an ambush. If you are shot at in the open I recommend going prone because chances are that your target is far away and "hitting the deck" could make them think you are dead or could hide you from their view.

tl:dr or summary
1 Move from cover to cover
2 stay crouched
3 look up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, Q, E, sprint
4 in a field sprint
5 in a field and shot at hit the deck!

If you have any other tips or suggestions then post them and I'll put them in this guide!
I'll also put you as a contributor.
Combat
If you play ARMA you'll be in a firefight or combat at somepoint in the game and it will be nice to know what to do to keep yourself alive. (wouldn't it?) If you played the tutorial (why wouldn't you) then you should have heard what each weapon is used for but here I'll put it up again:

Assault Rifles ex M16 M16A1 etc: Basic rifle most soldiers carry. This rifle will be helpful in any and all firefights.

SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon): These heavy weapons are used to suppress enemies and usually is targeting a key target or a large mass of enemy to keep them at bay. Usually want to shoot these weapons prone.

Sniper Rifles: Used to take out targets at most ranges (long, medium, short).

Bazookas/RPGS others: Used to take out enemy armor and vehicles but also can be used to get enemy out of a "dug in" location like a bunker.

So there are an explaination of the weapons. (if you would like to expand or edit my description then please do! I had trouble writing those)

In Combat movment is basically the same as movement in the previous section with a few exeptions. If you are stuck in a field and need to move don't stand up unless you feel safe/or have to. Stay on the ground and crawl every where. Only sprint or get up if there was a grenade thrown too close for comfort or if you need to retreat. (Other situations may occur)

In an urban enviorment use Q and E to look around corners and shoot instead of fully exposing your body to incoming fire. Suppressive fire works great in an urban enviorment since you are so close and packed but do not fire in one long shot, fire in bursts. That will imporve accuracy and save ammo. Explosives like grenades and sachel charges are deadly in towns if used right. Sachel charges can blow holes through fences and walls (I have not checked to see if you can bring down a building) which will allow you a new path through the city/town etc. Grenades will work if you have a group of enemy suppressed, just throw the grenade (or two) at the group and BOOM! no more enemy. :)

Depending on who you have and how you are going about missions will affect how you and your men react to incoming fire. My general rule is once shot at I dive towards the nearest cover and shoot in the direction I think I was shot at from. Then Provide suppressive fire so the SAW can get to the front to shoot the enemy.

tl:dr or Summary
1 If fired upon find cover, crouch or prone, fire until SAW can get up and fire.
2 Urban enviorments grenades, cover, suppressive fire
3 field go prone.

i like the cold war assault better, or A2, this one is a bit of a black sheep if you ask me, all your rules works just as fine in every arma game tho.
until you have some many hours in the game you can just maniacaly rambo the entire thing PvP and PvE.

nice, although the firing in the direction of where you were shot from is a very american "weight of fire" tactic that quite a few nations frown upon, but otherwise nice guide i want MOAR
