can you make a mod with only 1 extra life?

So how do i activate the regen of lives?. iv notice that i haven't regenerated the life i lost after 3h. and i'm trying to look around after the limitedLives.conifg file but i cant find it.
and the only file i find the the map where steam workshop is putting there mods in is a pak file and when i try enter it with Notepad and i see the line " self.regenEnabled = self.timer == -1 "
and i assume its the value that need to be changed and when i try to change it the game crashes and need to resubscribe the mod for the game to work again. can i change it while inside the game by a command as Admin?
sadly i must say i'm not much home at this area of editing the game.
id love to have the challenge of limited lives that will regenerate over time. if its not possible for me to change it. then can you guys add one that have the regen function active?
And i must say you guys have done a good work on this mod. ^^

I'm definitely sure that I reached more than the 3-hour mark and my lives haven't regenerated yet. Probs just an oSB conflict.

nvm, apparently the regen is set -1 by default, very funny.

yooo. I can finally see the 3 lives indicator (status effect) with oSB. Haven't died yet so I can't be 100 sure tho.

Just to be sure, I don't have to be in the game for three CONTINUOUS hours to regenerate a life, right? I feel like enough time should've passed by now since my last death.

@tigerfestival1988 So basically, would this turn casual mode into hard mode without hunger or item drops?
And what about survival mode in a hard mode with 3 lives, in addition to simply adding 3 lives to the hard mode?
