This guide is still under construction.
More will be added when discovered.

  • You will find a lot of items from sending reporters out. Look out for the "New Object" icon inside a reporting location on the map.


  • Try to get security as soon as possible (Police Station). Ultimately, you only need 2 guards. Place these either side of the main entrance. When gangsters, protesters, etc. come, manually put your guards outside on the street. This will speed up the process.

  • When protesters are blocking the entrance, you can still manually pick up your reporters and bring them in the building (this might be a bug?)

  • There are 6 news categories > Each reporter can visit 3 of the 6 > Having 8 reporters means you can have up to 4 reporters able to attend each category. The last 2 reporters will have some skill in each and used as back up.

1st Floor
Typesetter Floor
This floor should be all typesetters. This is the first place your reporters go to drop off their story.
You should only ever need 4 typesetters.

2nd Floor
Assembly Floor
This floor should be all assembly tables. A story must go from Typesetter > Assembly, so making them very close is ideal. It may not be a good idea to have an elevator stop here, but I'll experiment.

Floors 3, 4 and 5
My 3rd floor fits the full 5 printer modules.
My 4th floor has my storage.
My 5th floor has 2 coal power plants. This should be more than enough for end-game.

Floor 6
My 6th floor is mostly utility & administration. It's good to have the repair guys half way up the tower.

Floors 7, 8 and 9
My 7th floor consists of 4 of 8 of my reporters.
My 8th floor has all the Telegrapher stations (all 6) & sweep and clean.
My 9th floor has the remaining 4 reporters & sweep and clean.
Note: Every single floor (with staff) has a toilet

Floor 10
My final floor has (will have) sales and lawyers. However many I need. Probably 2-3 of each.

Can you also add the heights and widths of all the desks/stations, posters, etc? This will definitely help layout planning. I guess I meant... everything :D I guess this guide will be under construction for a while XD

Some things have non-rectangle profiles, though (like the printers), so it'd be great if you can at least note them.

Well I place Photography on the third floor, that way they can take the picture right to assembly, once its ready. the Photographers themselves are kinda like reporters so I give the their own area.

@goo.on.demand Thanks! You're welcome! I don't believe you can make printer modules between floors. Could be wrong! It's actually OK that it's only on one floor as the noise and heat really negatively affects the paper deliveries and repair guys concentration :stop: No other people stop at that floor.

@Johanfaba I did end up taking away the elevator on floor 2 so the reporters can only use floor 1 for their travel back to their desk. My elevators are on: Floor 1, 3 (printers), 4 (storage), then 6, 8, and 10. I may take them away from 6 and 8. The waiting for the elevator feels like I'm playing SimTower again! Stick to minimal use of the elevator.

Do you have any idea how to make the printer to be in multiple floors though?
I tried many layouts but it wont let me connect the module with the belts
