They were nicknamed "Big Emmas" by crews and were built in three batches between 1942 and 1949.- WIkipedia

The "Big Emmas" were a series of 2-8-4s for the louisville and nashville railroad. the engines were if not the strongest engines built for the L&N but were built right as dieselization, was hitting the railroad.

before the engines themselves were scrapped many of the "big emmas" were put into passenger service on the Louie and Nashville.

The "Big emmas" had a strong resemblance to berkshires like NKP 765 and PM 1225. but almost every single locomotive of the "Big emma" class has been scrapped. the only pieces remaining of these monsters are their tenders, 7 of which are preserved but 5 have been converted into canteens (a spare tender used to store water / coal )

L&N no. 1966's (the engine in which i based this livery on) tender can be seen in the South-Eastern railway museum which is located in Duluth, Georgia.
