1. download the logitech profiler

2. enable the gamepad in garry's mod

3. in the logitech profiler create a new profile for garry's mod

4. in the logitech profiler switch axises as needed or for steering wheels make gas and brake report as single axis and adjust degrees of rotation as needed (edit>specific game settings)

5. use these commands in console to adjust:

joy_sidethreshold 0.001 // steering deadzone (can be whatever number works for you)
joy_sidesensitivity 0.04 // steering sensitivity (can be whatever number works for you)

joy_forwardthreshold 0.01 // gas deadzone (can be whatever number works for you)
joy_forwardsensitivity -0.05 // gas sensitivity (can be whatever number works for you)

joy_yawsensitivity 0 // to get rid of spinning if you have a clutch
joy_yawthreshold 1 // to get rid of spinning if you have a clutch

joy_vehicle_turn_lowmap 1 // steering saturation (can be whatever number works for you; you will need to do this one each time you start the game because it doesn't save)
joy_vehicle_turn_lowend 0.4 // steering saturation (can be whatever number works for you; you will need to do this one each time you start the game because it doesn't save)
