Lets get into the guide

This section is for achievements relating to tasks set by various NPC's in the game.

There are 4 achievements in this section:

He Sells Sanctuary
Complete the Goth quests.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Goth Questline
After some playtime in your zoo, you'll get a quest from a goth who will ask you to keep your zoo open at later times. The way you do these quests is pretty hidden and not very obvious on how to complete them.
The secret is to research the different lampposts found in your research tree. Unlocking lampposts gives you a passive bonus of being able to keep your Zoo open for longer and later which will complete these quests (you do not need to place these lampposts you just need to unlock them).

Monster Matinee
Complete all Kaiju Cosplay quests.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Kaiju Cosplay Questline
At some point in the early game you'll be approached by a costumed NPC that will ask for specific animals to be donated to him.

Captain Cola
Convince Captain Cola to run a promotion at your zoo.

Captain Cola Questline
Although the achievement is to technically hire Captain Cola and that would come under the 'employees' guide category, in order to unlock him as a mascot you need to complete his questline. If I remember correctly, his quests involve reaching a daily sales target through the Cola vending machines.

Sky Writer
Get a flying visit!ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Free Promotion!
When you get to the stage where your zoo owns flamingos you'll get a quest where you have to donate a flamingo. Upon completion, the pilot will promote your zoo and you should get this achievement.

These achievements are related to your zoo employees.

There are 2 achievements in this section:

Fired Up
Fire an employee.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Let an Employee go
You can manually fire any employee by clicking on them or through selecting them in the facility they work for, simply click the fire option. Sometimes employees threaten to leave if you pay them low enough I'm sure if you fire them when presented with that option you will also get the achievement.

Gonky
Employ a Gonky mascot.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Hire a Gonky mascot
Since this is a non-essential employee the game won't notify you of needing a mascot. You can open a job posting for mascots at the gate after you have unlocked mascots through the research tree (see research section for full research tree). Employ the applicant that is wearing the pink square suit.

Transport related achievements are listed here.

There are 2 achievements in this section:

Transport Mogul
Own at least 10 buses.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Own 10 buses (Total)
Buses can be bought at the zoo gate under the transport button. Different bus types can be unlocked at the research tree.

Route Planner
Unlock 5 bus routes.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

How to unlock bus routes
Bus routes are unlocked as you gain more passengers for already unlocked bus routes.

All breeding related achievements including the dreaded map master achievement.

There are 5 achievements in this section:

Have a baby!
One of your animals must give birth.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Have an animal of yours give birth
Have 2 of the same animal and opposing genders in the same enclosure, eventually the animals will breed.

Big Birther
Your breeding program must produce 100 babies (Nursery births only).

Tips for achievement
As stated, you need to produce 100 babies at the Nursery. Build as many nurseries as you can keep track of and get to breeding! To speed this up, you can cancel the nursing period of the newborn animals, this won't negatively impact your zoo.

Cartographer
Map your first Genome.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

What is mapping a Genome and how to do it
Mapping a genome refers to unlocking all animal species for a particular animal. Each animal has 10 available species to unlock. Once you have unlocked all 10 of these species through breeding, you will have mapped a Genome for that particular animal. Build a nursery to breed animals and check breeding pairs, you can also use a CRISPR splicer to clone animals that you have discovered before but may have missing currently in your zoo.

Map Master
Map 56 standard animal Genomes.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

How to earn achievement
This achievement is slightly misleading as it will not complete after getting 56 animal genomes. It WILL unlock after you unlock genomes for ALL 62 animals. This bug is likely caused because the game initially launched with 56 animals and the game code for this achievement is set to unlock once all genomes are discovered.

Strategy in getting all animal genomes as quick as possible.

• Build as many nurseries as you can keep track of
  
• Build as many CRISPR facilities as you can keep track of
  
• Use Maximum time speed found at the top left of the screen
  
• Set Nurseries to 0 days nursing time
  
• Buy / Trade for all animals you haven't completed the genome for yet

Using the strategy
CRISPR
The first step is to get the breeding pairs you need in order to get the new species to progress in the genome tree. Of course you will need to keep note of the fact you will need 1 male and 1 female of the species you're trying to breed and the CRISPR won't always give you 2 opposite genders; recloning the species will be required.

These facilities will serve you as saves / checkpoints in getting your genomes as if you're in a situation where you lose your required animals / species you can easily get them back through the CRISPR splicer's 'clone animal' feature.

Breeding in Nurseries
Nurseries will be your most used facility when grinding this achievement, once you get 1 male and 1 female animal of your required species you can put them in the nursery to breed. If you haven't got the breeding pair yet you will be using the Nurseries to check what animals you need to get in order to get the breeding pair.

Once breeding starts all you need to know about are the the two different bars, you'll get a light pink bar which indicates breeding time. At this point a pink outline will be around the species that is getting bred. If you're going for an evil zoo and have no sympathy this is where you can abort the animal for some evil points, if not, continue until the end of the breeding timer where it will show a hot pink bar indicating the nursing period. Nursing is not massively important to zoo morality so you can rush it and return the animals to enclosure pretty much instantly.

Speeding up Time
Just for abit of extra information for those that may not know, you can speed up time so the days pass faster. Click the green triangle play button in the top middle of the screen to speed up time. You can click it twice to speed up to 3x speed. This is of course done to speed up breeding and cloning.

As a general rule of thumb, the bigger the animal the longer it will take to clone. Some animals take longer to breed such as the panda and sloth which is a cool little detail as they are just that lazy and slow in real life.

Hybrid Moments
Create your first hybrid animal.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

How to create hybrid animals
Hybrid animals are created at the CRISPR Splicer facility. Click on the building and select the 'select pair' option. The first option you pick will take the head of that animal and the second option will use the body of the animal. Have fun!

Complete the trade for the Lion in Singapore.

Your final few animal trades will happen with the Singapore Zoo

Super Trader
Complete 10 trades with other zoos.

Some achievements require you to have certain research unlocked in order to place certain items. Those achievements are probably in different categories. This section is dedicated for general research achievements. For convenience, I have taken a picture of the full research map if you want to unlock specific things!

Research 233 things in your research tree

These achievements relate to your zoo progression, milestones or owning of certain miscellaneous items that unlock an achievement. This section is not for any of the morality based achievements as those have sections of their own (see good and evil zoo sections below).

There are 6 achievements in this section:

Trampoline
Buy a trampoline for your zoo.

Research and place the trampoline
Trampolines are an enrichment item which you can only place in animal enclosures. You will need to research it first and then place it in an enclosure.

Cash King
Earn at least $50000 in a single day.

Increase income
Some ways to maximise the amount of money you earn:

• Increase zoo rating by decorating, having a higher animal variety etc.
  
• Build lots of shops, restaurants and attractions
  
• Pick up as many passengers as you can for each bus route (use bigger buses for efficiency)
  
• Have the zoo open for as long as possible (Zoo can close later if you research lampposts)

Ticket Master
Sell a ticket for at least 100 dollars.

How to get achievement
You'll naturally earn this achievement by making your zoo better. Focus on getting animal variety, species variety, conveniently placed facilities and shops. I don't believe you'll have much luck if you go straight for pricing your tickets at 100 dollars.

You'll know when to increase the price of tickets when the game warns you that your tickets are underpriced. When this happens, go to your zoo gate and select tickets option and increase the price by 2 dollars, if the warning does not go away keep increasing it by 2 dollars until the message disappears.

New Zoo
Unlock a second zoo on the world map.

Unlocking the second zoo
You can find another available zoo for purchase on the world map and clicking zoos in the top right. Here you will find an extra zoo that you can buy, as well as your DLC zoos if you have those.

Land Owner
Buy every plot of land in the starting zoo.

Buy every plot of land available
To make this guide as useful as possible, I wanted to write the total for how much it would cost to buy every single piece of land. However, this is not something I have been keeping track of and I might be doing an extra playthrough of the game to check. Otherwise if anyone has this information at hand already, I would be appreciative to know and update this guide further.

Decorator
Get a Deco Rating of 100%.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Bugged achievement... to your favour!
The longest achievement in the game by far. You will need to get 100% decoration score in your zoo or so the achievement says. Truthfully I have gotten this achievement earlier than I should've as the achievement popped when I achieved 91% overall zoo attractiveness.

You will need to buy majority (if not all) available land you can possibly get and decorate each square to 100 score. To check the decoration score of each square of your zoo, you will need to head to the heat maps tab found in the top right and click decoration.

Some notes to keep in mind

• Research as many decorations as you can to have a big variety to use for your zoo
  
• Use big decorations but do not spam them everywhere
  
• You will gain bonus decoration score for using a different decoration that is not present in the square yet, the size of the decoration will determine the amount of bonus decoration score you'll get

As you get through the research tree you will gain various ethical structures, mostly to do with farming and positive upkeep of the zoo like recycling rubbish and reducing air pollution.

Before you build any farms you will need to have gained a few good points

Preparation:

• Give maximum nursing time to animals at the nursery
  
• Plant lots of trees to fight air pollution (number of trees vary based on how many buses you have)
  
• Build water towers
  
• Build Improbable meat lab
  
• Build recycling bins and recycling building
  
• Adjust ingredient slider of shops to best quality possible
  
• Report black market dealers when presented with the choice
  
• Upgrade water pumps to have methane extractors
  
• Donate animals
  
• Build different crop fields (You reach max points in this category once you have 6 different crop fields)
  
• Pay staff maximum salary and offer compensation should they decide to leave
  
• Choose ethical option to situations that may come up (pick the yellow options or reject purple options)

The Saint

In order to get the option to send a black market dealer to prison, you will need to research and place a security post which will notify you when a black market dealer has visited your zoo. This will come up with three options 'buy', 'sell' and 'report'. To get this achievement, select the report option.

There are 7 achievements in this section:

Once you research enough things on the research map you'll unlock factories which are part of the evil zoo path, meaning you will use animals for meat, product manufacturing and upkeep of unethical businesses.

Before you work your way up to the factories you will need to have gained some evil points first. Easy ways to get your first few evil points is to get rid of as many good points you may have already.

Preparation

• Build a variety of factories (points max out at 6 different factories)
  
• Remove all trees to increase pollution (All Cacti need to be removed too as they remove Co2)
  
• Remove any ethical / farm related structures (Crop Fields, Wind Turbines, Barns, Water Towers)
  
• Adjust all staff salaries to as low as possible and if they threaten to quit, fire them with no payout compensation
  
• Remove all water pumps with methane extractors
  
• Remove all bins (especially recycling bins)
  
• Adjust all ingredient quality sliders to as low as possible for all shops and food places
  
• Abort unwanted animals
  
• Euthanize animals
  
• Remove any nursing time for animals at the nursery
  
• Buy animals from black market dealer (security post needed)
  
• Choose all evil / purple options for situations that will pop up when given a decision

Criminal Mastermind
Have 200 evil points.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Dealer
Sell 10 animals to the black market.ㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Sell animals to the black market dealer
To make this achievement easier, build a surveillance tower and once given the notification that a black market dealer has visited you click the 'sell' option.

Protest
Have a visit from a protestor.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

How to get protestors
You can get protestors even if you go with the ethical zoo option. They're never happy. You get protestors if there is any unfavourable treatment of your animals such as hunger, lack of enrichment, water or death. The most common reason protestors have visited me is lack of enrichment so this will be your most likely reason too.

Broken Teeth
Break some teeth.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

How to get achievement
When you gain enough evil points, you will unlock a questline from Dr Driller who will ask you to sell unpopped popcorn (adjusted at ingredient quality slider of the popcorn vendor) to many customers in a single day. On completion of his quest, you should get this achievement.

Bad Hot Dog
Sell a Hotdog at the worst possible quality.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

How to get achievement
Get a hotdog stand and adjust ingredient quality slider to the lowest possible. The achievement will pop as soon as a poor customer buys the hot dog.

Tastes Like Bacon
Build a bacon factory.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Research and build a Bacon Factory
The bacon factory will require atleast 10 evil points to build.

When you launch the dinosaur island DLC you will be given your first quest. It will ask you to clone your first dinosaur at the CRISPR Splicer, click the building and select clone animal.

A Mammoth Discovery
Complete the dig for the Mammoth.

Get the Wooly Mammoth
Dug up in the Tunguska dig site, it is the second or third dig you will complete there. Achievement pops when Wooly mammoth gets delivered to your zoo, not when the dig is complete.

How to unlock the Bernie mascot
Once you unlock mascots on the skill tree for your Dinosaur park, a quest will pop up requesting you to hire a Bernie mascot. Set up a mascot job listing at the gate of your zoo and wait for an application. Luckily in this DLC there is no variety in mascot types and there's just the Bernie mascot to hire. Once you hire a mascot, you'll complete the quest and earn the achievement.

Death Metal Death
Complete all Critical Choices for King Sapphire.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

What are the critical choices of King Sapphire?
Just like other situations you are offered options on decisions from NPC's at the start of the day (sometimes). King Sapphire will occasionally offer choices regarding his stunts. I do not think this achievement requires you to pick specific choices and you just need to complete all of them. I remember doing 2 choices for him and then I got the achievement.

Dino-Mite
Discover all 51 Dinosaurs/Animals.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Unlock all dinosaurs
To get all the dinosaurs it will be a very lengthy process especially for the last few digs (Tyrannosaurus dig uncovered 2-5% per day with maximum palaeontologists). I highly recommend getting as many Palaeontologists as possible. I have highlighted all possible upgrades below:

First Catch

Get your first fish
As a quick rundown, in the aquarium DLC the aquarium's morality system is based around catching fish from an ethical boat or an unethical boat. There is no difference on the boats aside from which fish you will be able to catch on that day, this achievement just requires you to get a fish from either boat.

There are no morality achievements in this DLC so this information will not matter for the remainder of the guide.

Sea Monster
Create your first marine hybridㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Create a fishy hybrid
Just like the basic zoo, use the CRISPR facility to splice two animals to create a wacky marine animal. You can create some funny looking ones.

Pearlfect
Build a Jewellerㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Unlock the Jeweller
The Jeweller is a shop that is unlocked in the research tree. Place it once unlocked.

GORSD

Hire all 6 mascots... right? no.
Aquarium Odyssey comes with 5 new mascots to hire. For some reason this achievement is not correct as there are only 5 different mascots to hire in the DLC. From my experience of getting this achievement I hired 5 DIFFERENT mascots and then hired another one with a same costume and got the achievement to pop. Some say they even got this achievement by hiring 4 applicants.

Anyways,

Whale Done
Get a blue whaleㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

How to get the blue whale
In order to get the blue whale you will need to get a ship to level 10. The way you level up your ship is to research the boat radar upgrades in the research tree. You can also get the blue whale from the FFBI agent that occasionally visits your aquarium (shown in screenshot below).

I have outlined where all the upgrades are (see above). The boat radar upgrades (outlined in red border) will allow you catch more rare and different fish the higher your level. I also recommend getting the ship capacity upgrades (outlined in blue border) as that will increase your chances of being able to get a blue whale as you'll be able to get more fish daily.
