POP QUIZ:
Question: Does Death need help from that skinny ass skeleton ♥♥♥♥♥?
Answer: ♥♥♥♥ NO, YOU ♥♥♥♥.

I don't know about you, but i aint no sissy page collecting ♥♥♥♥♥ from the looks of this guy...
Honestly, the easiest way to get these fat stacks of loot would be raiding them dungeons, and opening them chests. Sounds painstaking? You bet. Worth it? You're damn right it is.
This isnt a guide to how fast you can beat the game, or whoring out on all those achievements. (although we will go over them, nawm sayin'?)

So do you need Vulgrim's freshly squeezed ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to get badass gear?
Not necessarily.
Vulgrim and the Death Tombs
Yeah, yeah, we just went over this candy-ass. Look, straight up you both do and don't need this leech. Everybody rides this guys donker because of his Book of The Dead quest and the rewards. Well let me save your butt cave before it's too late! I mean sure, the death tombs come with a variety of Gilt, Stones (quests), weapons, and unique accesories...

But lezbehonest here

You don't need that ♥♥♥♥! Unless you're doing achievements, then you have no other reason to go collecting them 40 pages and sucking this guy off for chump pennies. The Abyssal Armor may seem ideal and godly at a low level, but there is way better crap than that set. No. We are sticking to hardcore grinding and looting like the good days. You want better gear? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ work for it!

You will use Vulgrim, however, for selling your stuff and redeeming boatman coins for gear/weapons. Now, when I say redeeming the coins for weapons, this don't mean we're dependent on this plagued flesh-bridge. But! We can use his legendary scythes to help kill bosses and get some bonus potentials for future growth.
The Gear
Alright you fruity maggots! This gear here presented to your beautiful eyes is for the soul purpose of stats and strength, not by rarity.

These ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are your main b!tch! Dealing roughly 4.5k a second and all those health recoveries and aids are going to benefit Death a whole lot more than you think. The critical chance is the most important bonus on here because of the %health crit. The stacks will make you almost invulnerable.

You would not believe how many times these buckler's have saved my ass. 1.) They're extremely fast paced attacks. 2.) They supply you with health just about every hit. These are what you use incase the scythes arent giving you the health boost you need.

These may not be the best of the best shoulders in your perspective, but here's why they help:
They give good defense, they produce good strength that helps with overall damage, and more importantly it gives off a third of +critical damage. Unless you're really trying to level or gain gilt, (which trust me..you'll be fine with selling all your ♥♥♥♥) then you dont need other shoulders that give off %experience or %gilt.

Once again, the defense is high, critical damage is swell, and the strength is helpful.

BAM. Got some epics in this ♥♥♥♥♥. And look! Some experience bonus to help with that agonizing last level! I'm sure you can tell why we're using this. ;)

Oh mah Jesus! A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Abyssal armor boot equip?! Yeah, yeah. You may find something better, may , but these boots specifically help out with added strength. The critical chance could be higher, but for this level directly is pretty ideal for this build.

But look at that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ health regen and that crit damage! Nope! Don't need none of those cheap ass ability talisman this time.

So that's the gear. Yes, it is level specific on an Apocalyptic game mode, but it is IDEAL to player if choosing this build. A fast, strong, critical damage, self healing parasite will piss the ♥♥♥♥ out of all the bosses and enemies you slaughter. With all these added up, you have a critical damage of 217%, 40% Critical Chance (Almost half the chance to always get health on a hit, which is pretty high!)

You will NEVER have to use another damn ♥♥♥♥♥ HP pot again!

Skill Build
Here's the build, ladies and gents! And look what that first skill is... THE BIGGEST ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MISTAKE YOU'LL EVER MAKE IF NOT USED. Seriously. Teleport slash will be your biggest thank you when you're caught in a white sticky gang bang of bosses. This is crucial for the healing build. As well as Unstoppable (strength increase), and Aegis Guard (% damage reduction). You don't even have to summon those slave squishy puppies that limp into battle and get massacred at first hit. Nah ♥♥♥♥ that, and ♥♥♥♥ you for thinking that! You are hardcore and kill at the site!
Promotion!
Absalom is final boss. But do you know how easy that little ♥♥♥♥ is on Apocalyptic with this gear/build? Well honestly Absalom isn't even the toughest boss. BUT WHEN YOU KNOW YOU CAN KILL FINAL BOSS IN LESS THAN A MINUTE, THEN YOU KNOW YOU'RE AN OFFICAL BADASS. This build will most likely be the best option when trying to finish the game on Apocalyptic and achievements. As a hybrid Harbinger and Necromancer, healing with strong crits is like Adam and Eve on a nude beach. Goodluck, and most of all, ENJOY THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME.

1) Necro build (don't really need crit from shield, wrath from gouls, or reaper from crows)
2) Arcane crit chance in both weapons + talisman (this well get you close to 100% if not over)
3) Possessed weapon priority attributes = arcane crit damage = wrath steal > arcane = health steal > elemental damage
4) Armor priority attributes = arcane crit damage > arcane > resistence > defense
5) Pop whatever skills you want, slash a bit and your wrath/health should stay topped off
6) thank me later

I'm currently sitting at 102% Arcane Crit Chance and 426% Arcane Crit Damage, enemies melt even if they're bosses. If you're lacking in defense and resistence you'll probably still be okay, just play a bit smart and avoid a few hits.

OMG, he really reminded me of Mr. Torgue. That's a big fat *** exploooosive guide :-)

BTW, I though the Necro tree requires the Arcane stat to have the potential (Arcane CHC and Arcane CHD), yet you did not invest on those stats but most of your points are in the Necro tree. Is that correct?

THX for guide. It forced me to think more about hybrid build. Till now I'm avoiding Necromancer tree as I wanted max DPS etc.. Now i can see there are more options ;-)

Yeah, It was the style I went for with this guide in particular. I don't really like over stepping my boundaries with profanity, but with this I just had to! Feel free to ask any DS2 questions on anything if needed. Glad to provide insight!

Well, kinda overused the cussing :/ are you related to Mr Torgue? Clearly, you are judging by this guide.
