How to play Vince: A Beginners Guide
By Kahmos
Vince is hard to play on purpose, but fun once you figure him out

Some notes about Vince:
Almost all of his upgrades are actually downgrades, except his weapon slots, his weapon, and his ultimate: Starry Night.
He looks slouched, like he's sad.
His weapon: Leaf Blower, is meant to be a kiting tool.
In the game it looks like he's farting, that's the Leaf Blower.
His ultimate, Starry Night, has a VERY short cooldown, and is meant to be spammed.
His ultimate shrinks enemies if they reach the center.
Fully upgraded Leaf Blower can deal significant damage, 20 damage crit per fart at level 1.

The Strategy

Vince has one particular characteristic that's not obvious at first, without upgrades, he comes with 100% crit chance.
This actually makes a couple weapons obvious for him.
Yo-yo and Red Leech

Both give lifesteal on critical hit, but Yo-yo in particular can reach far behind Vince when he stops after casting Starry Night, not only to heal him a decent amount, but also dealing a 10x multiplier on crits to infinite enemy piercing, that means when you cast Starry Night, and all of those enemies are in the vortex, the yo-yo can sweep through a group of enemies for 30 damage each enemy hit, and +1 healing HP for each.

Red Leeches always trail behind the player, which is perfect for Vince since he must kite to survive.

If you fully downgrade Vince, you will not be able to reroll, so if you get poor rolls on weapons early game, you'll likely not have a chance to get him started, and will likely have to start over. If you want to save time playing Vince, be prepared to restart the level repeatedly until you get a decent starting weapon.

The Build
Weapons
1. Yo-yo
2. Red Leech
3. Radioactive Skull
4. Amoeba
5. Flail

Honorable Mention: Boomerang pierces 1000 enemies, and is very upgrade-able.

Utility Slots
1. Winged Boots
2. Telescope
3. Shield
4. Lucky Hand
5. Bull Head

These should be self explanatory, but let me break them down.
Yo-yo and Red Leech work with Vince's positioning and HP requirements. Fully downgraded, he is actually losing HP passively.
Radioactive skull is necessary to stop tiny mobs from chipping him down while he kites, also helps him get gems very early on, try to grab this first.
Amoeba is not only defensive, but a good spawn is a great place to cast Starry Night.
Flail not only has good knock back, but the enemy piercing is 1000, unlike Amoeba which is 115, Vince's Starry Night enables stacking enemies into one tight space, so more enemy piercing the better, for all weapons.

Winged boots are for kiting, they are necessary since Vince can't outrun a lot of enemies even with Starry Night spam.
Telescope makes all of the weapons big enough to not have to focus on accurate aiming, enabling more defensive movement.
Shield is necessary since Vince takes a lot of damage running away.
Lucky Hand is one of the best utility items for Vince, not only because he starts with below average luck, but sometimes a temporary buff is the best way he can do a lot of damage all at once, for example Starry Night and a mushroom combined suddenly prevents all of those enemies from running away.
Bull head just enhances the defensiveness of the Leaf Blower and the Flail, which is funny to see at times, a Starry Night plus a good fart and suddenly Vince is alone!

I'm not sure if there's any particular benefits to playing Vince, other than as a challenge or for fun, but I'm still playing through the game.
I can tell you know, upgrading the Leaf Blower is EXPENSIVE, however, if you follow my Almost AFK Anita Build, you should be able to farm up the materials pretty easily.

Don't get these items
Silver Hook, you already have 100% crit chance
Crossbow, you'd have to turn around to shoot and it has no enemy piercing
Shrinker, your ultimate already shrinks
Fireball, it does shoot backwards but only pierces 15 enemies
Slingshot, shoots backwards, knocks back, but only pierces 2, doesn't help you much.

Pro Tip: don't try to master this guy early on, he is NOT easy to play.
