Hello settlers! Winter is coming to an end and you're getting hectic because you can already see the castellan in your mind's eye, grinning shabbily and holding out his hand? That doesn't have to be the case! In this guide, I'd like to give you some ideas on how to never have money worries in Medieval Dynasty again (and if in doubt, how to break the 1 million mark 😉). I differentiate between three game phases: early, mid and endgame.

One thing in advance: Regardless of the phase - as in many games of this genre: crafting, crafting, crafting. The more raw materials are refined, the higher your returns in terms of financial, material and time investment.

Both the Oxbow map and the valley are littered with old carts, chests, flotsam, bandit camps, etc., which you can loot. Some of the items you find can be sold for good money at merchants in the villages. Advantage: Easy to loot - disadvantage: Very poor time efficiency compared to single-minded crafting. Nevertheless: I strongly recommend that you (if you are new) run around a lot and discover the world. This gives you a better understanding of the map and the game, is fun, slows you down and you might find your favourite place to settle.

Hunting can be worthwhile at the beginning, not only to practise hunting, but also financially. Why? For one thing, you get meat that you can roast and sell (even without a house). A piece of roasted meat should earn you 4 coins at this point. If you now hunt deer, wild boar, elk (maybe even bison), you not only train your skills, but also earn your first coins through the amount of meat. For example, if you manage to kill an elk directly, you will earn 40 x meat (= 160 coins if you roast it over the campfire) and 20 x leather, which you can craft into simple sacks (20 pieces; = 120 coins).

If it doesn't go completely against your playstyle and you haven't yet looted a (long)bow / good spear, I think stealing at the beginning is completely okay - it's a mechanic after all.

It's still quite tedious at the beginning with a stone axe, but it's worth going into a mine in the first season. Copper, tin and iron ore can be sold for an acceptable price.

If you build a forge (from 50 technology points in production; this is quick), you can smelt the ores and thus increase the selling price by three to four times.However, once you have the forge, process it into end products straight away. The copper shovel and copper axe are best suited at the beginning. Later on, the bronze axe is by far the most profitable. From the diplomacy skill "Tough negotiator I" onwards, it is also particularly worthwhile economically to buy and refine the raw materials (ores + logs) for these three products, e.g. in Piastovia.

Skill "Tough Negotiator" to at least level one early on. After that, I recommend gaining more experience in the diplomacy tree before you go back to negotiating partner, because:From the "Tough Negotiator I" level upwards, it is much more worthwhile buying raw materials than at base prices in order to process them and sell them again as end products.Here is the example of the copper axe: If you pay the base price (unskilled), 4 x copper ingots and 1 x log will cost you 163.50 coins. However, the copper shovel only earns you 130 coins. At skill level "Tough negotiator level I", however, you can make a profit of 3.40 coins with the same process (level II: 40.30 coins profit | level III: 77.20 coins profit).Even better: buy the raw materials instead of direct primary products. A log and 8 x copper ore (=4 x copper ingots) only cost you 97.50 coins (without skill) and 91 coins at level I. The cash register will ring accordingly: selling a copper axe will bring you a profit of 32.50 coins or 65 coins!

You can skill diplomacy by holding conversations, trading or flirting.
By the way: Fruit trees are profitable after the first harvest, but take a year to grow. Here are other products with good profit margins in the early game:

• Torch, roasted meat (bison, deer, elk, wild boar)
  
• Copper axe, copper shovel (also worthwhile for purchasing raw materials from level I)
  
• Oats and rye porridge, cabbage soup
  
• If you have a sewing workshop: Linen shirt, shoes, leather gloves, small belt pouch if applicable (all only produced from your own production, do not buy intermediate products)

Tip: Create large fields for flax, rye, oats and possibly cabbage right at the start of the game. Large quantities of flax in particular offer very good opportunities for refining and thus earning coins. Don't be afraid to start bigger and get the 10x10 or 12x12 out. In my opinion, this is necessary later on anyway and taxes are no longer a problem thanks to this guide. ;)

Basically, the patterns and mechanics from the early game are retained, but other products that generate more money from less labour become more interesting.

First and foremost we can talk about sewing products (especially fur boots, bags, sacks etc.), because if you have planted linseed directly in spring, you can turn the flax into top products for sale (or save having to buy winter clothes).

If you reach the point in the midgame where you can process bronze, this is a great source of money. Buying finished bronze ingots as well as tin and copper ores and processing them into bronze is a great way to make money. The best way to do this is to sell bronze axes. Also, if you can make better sewing products at some point, e.g. wool products, take the opportunity. Because here I present you the top 5 products according to highest profit:



By the way: From "tough negotiator level II" it is worth refining more and more raw materials into goods. Level III makes it possible to buy almost anything and resell it at a profit after processing (MeDy-Tools). If you have reached this point: Don't be too stingy and use the forager once a season to scour the villages and take out all 17 merchants. I recommend selling mainly in Piastovia and Klonica at the beginning, as that's where most of the vendors are (seven in Piastovia and four in Klonica).

Maybe it's already the "late mid-game" or mid-game, but: You can sell refined end products from 2,500 technology points in production technology via market stalls in your own village. This is worthwhile for two main reasons: Firstly, your vendors' money comes out of nowhere, so there is no limit to the amount of goods you can sell, as is the case with the limited money of NPC merchants. Secondly, you don't have to be constantly on the move to sell goods.

From now on, in my opinion, it is worth either creating productions adapted to sales (wine, mead, tunics, waistcoats, iron axes, bronze axes, etc.) or producing a large number of products yourself once a year if you do not yet have the appropriate employees in the production branch. You can scale this up to such an extent that at some point mass sales will take place.

Of course, you can still empty the retailers' tills when the opportunity arises. Ideally, however, you will soon have more coins in your materials warehouse every spring than your partner needs to pay taxes to the castellan.

Moin Siedler! Der Winter neigt sich dem Ende und du wirst hektisch, weil du vor deinem geistigen Auge schon den Kastellan mit schäbigem Grinsen und offen ausgestreckter Hand siehst? Das muss nicht sein! In diesem Guide möchte ich dir Ideen mitgeben, wie du nie wieder Geldsorgen in Medieval Dynasty hast (und im Zweifel auch die 1 Million knackst 😉). Dabei unterscheide ich drei Game-Phase: Early-, Mid- und Endgame.

Eines vorab: Egal in welcher Phase gilt – wie in vielen Spielen dieses Genres: Crafting, Crafting, Crafting. Je weiter Rohstoffe veredelt sind, desto höher sind deine Erträge in Bezug auf finanzielle, sachliche und zeitliche Investitionen.

Sowohl die Oxbow-Map als auch das Tal sind übersät mit alten Karren, Truhen, Treibgut, Banditenlagern usw., welche du looten kannst. Gefundene Gegenstände lassen sich zum Teil für gutes Geld bei Händler*innen in den Dörfern verkaufen. Vorteil: Einfach looten – Nachteil: Im Vergleich zu Zielstrebiger Herstellung sehr schlechte Zeiteffizienz. Dennoch: Ich empfehle ganz stark, dass du dich (falls du neu bist) viel herumzurennen und die Welt zu entdecken. Das sorgt für ein Verständnis der Map, des Spiels, macht Spaß, entschleunigt und du findest vielleicht deinen Lieblingsplatz zum Siedeln. 😊

Nicht nur, um das Jagen zu üben, sondern auch finanziell kann sich das Jagen zu Beginn lohnen. Warum? Zum einen erhältst du Fleisch, welches du Braten und verkaufen kannst (auch ohne Haus). Ein Stück gebratenes Fleisch dürfte dir zu diesem Zeitpunkt 4 Münzen einbringen. Wenn du nun Hirsche, Wildscheine, Elche (vielleicht sogar Wisente) jagst, trainierst du nicht nur deine Skills, sondern machst über die Menge des Fleisches durchaus erste Münzen. Schaffst du es bspw. direkt einen Elch zu erlegen, sind das 40 x Fleisch (= 160 Münzen, wenn du es über dem Lagerfeuer brätst) und 20 x Leder, welches du zu etwa einfachen Säckchen craften kannst (ergäbe 20 Stück; = 120 Münzen).

Sollte es nicht komplett gegen deinen Spielstil gehen und du noch keinen (Lang-)Bogen / guten Speer gelootet hast, finde ich im Zweifel auch Diebstahl am Anfang völlig okay – es ist schließlich eine Mechanik.

Eine Übersicht, welche Tiere wie reagieren und wie viel Fleisch + Leder / Pelz sie ergeben, findest du hier:



Es ist zu Beginn mit einer Steinaxt noch recht mühselig, aber es lohnt sich schon in der ersten Jahreszeit in eine Mine zu gehen. Kupfer-, Zinn- und Eisenerz lassen sich als solche schon mit akzeptablem Preis verkaufen.

Auf dieser Map kannst du sehen, wo sich Minen befinden:



Wenn du eine Schmiede errichtest (ab 50 Technologiepunkte in Produktion; das geht schnell), kannst du die Erze schmelzen und damit den Verkaufspreis um das Drei- bis Vierfache steigern.
Allerdings: Wenn du die Schmiede hast, verarbeite dann gleich zu Endprodukten. Am besten eignen sich zu Beginn Kupferschaufel und Kupferaxt. Später ist es die Bronzeaxt, welche mit Abstand den besten Gewinn abwirft. Ab der Diplomatiefähigkeit „Zäher Verhandlungspartner I“ lohnt es sich bei diesen drei Produkten auch wirtschaftlich besonders gut, dessen Rohstoffe (Erze + Holzstämme) z.B. in Piastovia zu kaufen und zu veredeln.

Skille früh „Zäher Verhandlungspartner“ auf mind. Stufe eins. Danach empfehle ich im Diplomatiebaum auf mehr Erfahrung sammeln bevor du dann wieder auf Verhandlungspartner gehst, denn: Ab der Stufe „zäher Verhandlungspartner I“ lohnt sich der Einkauf von Rohstoffen schon deutlich mehr, als bei Basispreisen, um sie zu verarbeiten und als Endprodukte wieder zu verkaufen. Hier das Beispiel Kupferaxt: Zahlst du den Basispreis (nicht geskillt), sind es für 4 x Kupferbarren und 1 x Holzstamm 163,50 Münzen. Die Kupferschaufel bringt dir aber nur 130 Münzen ein. Auf Skillstufe „Zäher Verhandlungspartner Stufe I“ machst du mit dem gleichen Prozess allerdings schon 3,40 Münzen gewinn (St. II: 40,30 Münzen Gewinn | St. III: 77,20 Münzen Gewinn).

Noch besser: die Rohstoffe statt direkter Vorprodukte einkaufen. Ein Holzstamm und 8 x Kupfererz (=4 x Kupferbarren) kosten dich nur 97,50 Münzen (ohne Skill) und 91 Münzen auf Stufe I. Dementsprechend klingelt auch die Kasse: Der Verkauf einer Kupferaxt bringt dann schon einen Profit von 32,50 Münzen bzw. 65 Münzen!

Diplomatie skillst du, indem du Gespräche führst, handelst oder flirtest.

Übrigens: Obstbäume rentieren sich schon nach der ersten Ernte, brauchen aber ein Jahr, um zu wachsen.

Hier sind weitere Produkte mit guten Gewinnspannen im Early-Game:

• Fackel, gebratenes Fleisch (Bison, Hirsch, Elch, Wildschwein)
  
• Kupferaxt, Kupferschaufel (lohnen sich ab Stufe I auch im Rohstoffeinkauf)
  
• Hafer und Roggenbrei, Kohlsuppe
  
• Wenn Näherei vorhanden: Ggf. Leinenhemd, Schuhe, Lederhandschuhe, kleine Gürteltasche (alle nur Herstellung aus eigener Produktion, nicht Vorprodukte kaufen)

Tipp: Legt direkt zu Beginn des Spiels große Felder für Flachs, Roggen, Hafer und ggf. Kohl an. Insbesondere der Flachs bietet in großen Mengen sehr gute Möglichkeiten der Veredelung und damit Münzen einzunehmen. Traut euch ruhig größer anzufangen und haut die 10x10 oder 12x12 raus. Im späteren Verlauf ist das meines Erachtens sowieso notwendig und Steuern sind dank diesem Guide ja kein Problem mehr. 😉

Grundsätzlich bleiben die Muster und Mechaniken aus dem Early-Game erhalten, allerdings werden andere Produkte, die mehr Geld aus weniger Arbeit einbringen, interessanter.

Allen voran kann hier von Näherei Produkten gesprochen werden (v.a. Pelzstiefel, Taschen, Säckchen usw.), da wenn ihr im Frühjahr direkt Leinsamen gepflanzt habt, könnt ihr den Flachs zu Top-Produkten des Verkaufs machen (oder spart euch Winterklamotten kaufen zu müssen).

Solltet ihr im Midgame an dem Punkt landen Bronze verarbeiten zu können, ist das eine geniale Geldquelle. Sowohl fertige Bronzebarren als auch Zinn- und Kupfererze zu kaufen und zu Bronze zu verarbeiten, lohnt sich ungemein, um Geld zu scheffeln. Verkauft dazu am besten Bronzeäxte. Auch, wenn ihr irgendwann bessere Näherei-Erzeugnisse durch z.B. Wollprodukte machen könnt, nutzt die Gelegenheit. Denn hier stelle ich euch die Top 5 Produkte nach höchstem Profit vor:



Übrigens: Ab „zäher Verhandlungspartner Stufe II“ lohnt es sich immer mehr Rohstoffe zu Waren zu veredeln. Stufe III macht es möglich fast alles zu kaufen und mit verarbeitet mit Gewinn weiter zu verkaufen. (siehe: MeDy-Tools)
Solltest du an diesem Punkt angelangt sein: Sei nicht zu geizig und nutze einmal pro Jahreszeit den Furtner, um die Dörfer abzuklappern und alle 17 Händler auszunehmen. Ich empfehle zu Beginn vor allem in Piastovia und Klonica zu verkaufen, da dort die meisten Verkäufer sind (sieben in Piastovia und vier in Klonica).

Vielleicht ist es auch schon das „späte Mid-Game“ oder Mid-Game, aber: Veredelte Endprodukte kannst du ab 2.500 Technologiepunkten in Produktionstechnik über Marktstände im eigenen Dorf verkaufen. Das lohnt sich vor allem aus zwei Gründen: Zum einen kommt das Geld deiner Verkäufer aus dem Nichts, sodass es kein Limit an verkauften Waren gibt, wie es durch das begrenzte Geld der NPC-Händler der Fall ist. Zum anderen musst du nicht ständig auf Achse sein, um Waren zu verkaufen.

Von nun an, lohnt es sich in meinen Augen entweder an den Verkauf angepasste Produktionen zu erstellen (Wein, Met, Tuniken, Westen, Eisenäxte, Bronzeäxte, usw.) oder einmal pro Jahr selbst eine große Anzahl der Produkte zu produzieren, wenn du noch keine entsprechenden Mitarbeiter in dem Herstellungszweig hast. Das kannst du soweit skalieren, dass irgendwann regelrechte Massenverkäufe stattfinden.

Natürlich kannst du auch bei Gelegenheit nach wie vor die Kassen der Händler*innen leeren. Jedoch liegen im Idealfall schon bald jeden Frühjahr mehr Münzen in deinem Materiallager, als dein*e Partner*in benötigt, um Steuern beim Kastellan zu begleichen.

Nu rein in’s Game! Medieval Dynasty ist ein großartiges Spiel. Auch, wenn du keinen einzigen meiner Vorschläge beherzigst, wartet ein große Menge Spaß auf dich!
