Salem-Class Large Cruiser

Greetings Commander, the Aerial Navy is proud to introduce its latest top-of-the-line warship in the Salem Class large cruiser!

Orders passed down from the Board of Admirals requested a vessel conforming to battlecruiser specifications; a vessel that can outrun anything it cannot fight. Basing the design off of the final gun-cruisers of days past, the Salem does just that. She is a large yet graceful craft, having battleship levels of firepower, cruiser levels of maneuverability, while being around half the cost, allowing you to efficiently expand your fleet with this effective warship.

While she doesn't have battleship levels of energy protection, her well-placed bubble suite ensures multiple days worth of shield endurance and weapons protection. Deriving her power from the equivalent of 235 Hawkeye batteries, you will be able to outlast almost any other tech's shielding (just remember to fire!). Layering of repair bubbles protect vital components such as missiles and batteries, and four cabs spread around the ship ensure ample redundant survivability!

On top of this, she is also extremely mobile. Advancements in propulsion technology through jet engines have allowed for significantly cheaper running gear while being faster than traditional rotor-prop systems. Able to cruise at over 115 kph and boost to over 135 means she is significantly faster than the other large cruiser in the USAN's arsenal; the Chicago, and even faster than the Trenton class heavy cruisers while having more firepower than both of them combined!

Fielding no fewer than 14 battleship class cannons and 34 cruise missiles means you can engage enemies with impunity from standoff distance. It is even possible to perform extreme-range bombardment through pitching the entire ship. Over a dozen avalanche launchers provide protection from aircraft and other small craft, and the secondary battery of eighteen dual autocannons will shred the enemy's shielding in no time! To keep up the pressure, two Type 45s provide rapid-fire volleys keep 'em down.

At $4.8M BB, the Salem isn't cheap, but her capabilities are well worth her pricetag. Often called one of the most beautiful ships in the Aerial Navy, this sleek vessel is just waiting for a chance at action. Go take your command to the helm of this wonderful cruiser!
