Recycle Garbage Truck game. - Great - I love it.. I nearly never bought it bcause of all those complainers, banging on about the game being crap - it really is not.. Give it a chance and use your imagination... Although it is not worth £24 that some say they paid for it.. But the game could get that worthwhile price with the right development and marketing..
It is a good game and I can see a lot of work and thought has gone into it. Most of the people complaining about this game are not really sim game fans I think. - If you look at some of the complainers - 'game-play-time-stats', you will see that most have only played, (or tried to play), for less than an hour or so.. Its like the complainers in OMSI, they just think they can jump in and play, press the trigger to drive etc..
You get those types in FSX too, those who just want to jump in and fly.. But they soon get bored and start complaining that the game is sh** because they do not have the patience to sit and learn how to play it. It takes numerous realistic operations before you can even start the engines in a 747.
Then there are those players who are all into vehicle dynamics and want super hi-res graphics.. Nothing wrong with any of that, but partly the games marketers are to blame for using over hyped phrases like 'Realistic and lifelike 3D living world' (when it is not)..
I am not comparing this game to OMSI or FSX in any way, except to say that the complainers have certain traits in common, lack of patience and imagination and they are not really game simulation fans in my opinion..
Sure, there are a few holes in this game, (but why would people complain about not being able to run pedestrains over, or smash up other AI cars, claiming that the crash dynamics don't work when there aren't any. This game is not GTA! - It is simply about driving and managing in a recycle garbage company)... There are some real areas that need work in this game, but the developers are going on the right direction.
I like the game and with a little more sensible understanding from people, who should realise this game is not about simulated driving of a truck, nor is it about living the life of a garbage truck worker, then the developers might feel inspired to keep working on the game and make it all that it can be. I hope they do..
Eventually, there will no-doubt be realistic first and third person driving, crash dynamics and other aspects covered, like a 'back-story' if you want to play a scenario.. But before that happens, I reckon the developers need more encouragement and understanding; Not those complainers who are shouting the game down. Then people who read their garbage, do not want to buy the game because of what they have said..
The developers could have / should have kept the game in a dev stage for longer and kept the price really low, so that lots of people could try it and get involved. I'm talking £4.97 kind of price or £2.99, although I did not mind paying £7 for it. I know some people who are not sim fans, would feel cheated at £7..
I think of it this way, it kept me entertained for longer than 7 hours to now, and I am still comtinuing to play it.. So that is less the £1 per hour for entertainment value! You cannot get that if you go to see a movie, which is all over and done 1.5 hours later!
