It's rather dense and quite lengthy but also so wonderfully over-the-top silly, yet manages to have serious moments there; characters are also exaggerated but interesting and memorable at the same time. Also, you do get to not just examine scenes and question people, but also find contradictions ( and yell "Objection!"), and it's actually harder than it looks in some convoluted cases with craziness overload. Also... it's funny.
I hope you'll work your way up there at some point - I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I've played like 10 of them total. PK and Danganronpa are 2 of those, lol. I'm reviewing one good one now. But it's extremely dynamic, and the story and art was too good to pass up, other than that - I'll usually venture that way only if there's promising horror, like Spirit Hunter.
I'm not planning to build any relationship with them, they have plenty of people adoring them as is.

With that being said, I discovered AA by reading multiple "Best Adventures of all time..." compilations, and I noticed that almost everyone who played within the genre have heard of it or tried it or unashamedly loved it. So I jumped in with my super-limited VN experience and... never looked back. This is the OG.

And it was ONLY in that context that I heard of the Ace Attorney games, how they were the Capcom series Spike Chunsoft modelled Danganronpa after. I know next to nothing else about them, just that they're very popular and people usually get overly excited when they come up in the feed! :)

On the one hand I love them for how approachable and stylish and bubbly they are, on the other, I hate how over-explained and rambling they tend to be, how enraptured with themselves and oblivious to anything else. But we make due and we're both working on our relationship! :)

"Phenomenal knowledge and experience", lol! No, you're spoiling me with your goodwill, like a good host, but, frankly, I haven't even heard of it until recently. I avoided VNs throughout my youth (didn't have any friends who played them either) and only recently opened up to them, after enjoying Paradise Killer so much. Someone told me or I read in a review that Japanese horror detective VNs like Danganronpa were among its sources of inspiration (one of the things that most noticeably stood out from that super classy melange of trends and genres PK was) and I though: "Hey, they can't be that bad if Paradise Killer takes hints from them!" and thus began my love/hate relationship with Visual Novels.

I'm an alien to Visual Novels. And I'm perfectly fine to keep it that way. AA is in a league of its own though - there's a reason it made tons of "Best Adventures" lists, and every seasoned adventure player either a) loves it or b) definitely played it. It's an anomaly that you haven't, especially with your phenomenal knowledge and experience.
It's rare that VN crosses that hard into adventure universe, as far as getting so much love and recognition.
I'm positively jealous that you've yet to discover all this delightful, over-exaggerated fun!

Not yet. I'm new to Visual Novels. Currently working my way up from Zero Escape and Danganronpa.

"Objection!" is like home. It's where my heart is.
Did you play this classic?

Lol, I bet your friends avoid contradicting you like the plague!
