Optimize performance
Go to the folder "C:\ Users \ <YourUserName> \ AppData \ Local \ TheComplexFF \ Saved \ Config \ Windows" and open"GameUserSettings.ini".

"C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Local\TheComplexFF\Saved\Config\Windows"

The parameter "sg.GlobalIlluminationQuality" it's set to 3 by default. Just changing the value to 2 gives us a noticeable performance boost. This reduces the number of samples for global illumination.
Can I get more performance?
No, unfortunately you can't. I have tried different parameters and it doesn't seem to work, such as deactivating motion blur, SSR, activating dynamic resolution...

"Wait a moment, you have set the global illumination parameter to 2, what happens if you set 0 or 1? You will get more performance?" Well, this is a good question. The short answer is yes, with my GTX 1060 I get more than 60 FPs, unfortunately you won't see anything. Global illumination allows light to be distributed on all walls, if the parameter is set to 0 or 1 only the light source will illuminate the area compromising the experience.

That's all? That simple?
Yes, that simple. The comparison is incredible with my GTX 1060 (1080P Ultra).
- Set to 3 (default): 18 ~ 22 FPs, Input lag ~0.2 sec. (100% Usage, 120~150W, ~63ºC)
- Set to 2: 32 ~ 46 FPs, no Input lag. (Limited to 30 FPs, ~70% Usage, 60~90W, ~56ºC)

That is what we call "throwing money at the problem" rather than troubleshooting and fixing it. I'm running a 9 year old 6th gen i7 frankendell laptop with a GTX960M on Linux with Proton, runs great at 1080p high effects once I get through the first level.

my GTX 1660 Ti can handle this game like a beast, no modifications needed.

The game only has three screen resolutions and has the same performance.
1920x1080
19160020x900 (1600x900)
1280x720

In the end I said goodbye to my AORUS GTX 1060 XE. I bought an ASUS DUAL RTX 4060 OC and the change is incredible. Unfortunately the game experience is still terrible, the GPU can't get a stable 60.

What if i just put the display to 800x600
short answer please

It's a Demo, so it's not optimized. Also uses RTGI, AMD cards are not prepared for RT. The 7900XTX performs similar to the RTX 2080/3060/4060. While in Rasterization is equal to the RTX 4080.

this game is really demanding tho.
i get drops to 40 or 30ish on that white room with the cables hanging from the ceiling on a 7900XTX

Maybe I'll buy a 4060 (for Blender, otherwise I'll go for a 6650XT for the same price).

In Spain the prices are expensive and on top of that they take advantage. During the BF the cheapest 4060 (Zotac) was €450, right now it's €280, but I'm sure that in the coming weeks (for Christmas) the price will rise again.

The spaces are on purpose to avoid a super long line where many people get lost by not understanding that it's a path to a folder.

As for the graphic settings, put them as you want. In the guide I only indicate a parameter that cannot be changed in the game settings. Besides, between Low and Ultra the performance is the same for me.
