Starting August 20th I will try to do at least one daily run of Caduceus in the Employee of the Month category as a way to motivate and discipline myself to do what I have been yearning for years: Speedrunning Viscera Cleanup Detail.

I have hit my initial goal of sub 40 minutes, I will now slowly start to integrate community strats while looking at other people's runs. I don't quite have it in me to do the homework just yet but it's something I gotta and wanna do.

I picked Caduceus because it's the first level I ever speedran and the one I used to consider my favorite level in the past. While it has not aged as well as I'd have hoped, I still have a significant appreciation for it.

Some things for consideration:
- I play with documentaries in the background or music (I have isolated the audio track with an OBS plugin), this means I'm not as focused as I should. I will do away with the distraction later on.
- If I have to pause the game I will label the run as SEGMENTED. This is also temporary as I evolve in the runs.
- I might submit incomplete runs as INCOMPLETE, or sub 100% as ATTEMPT.
- If I do more than one run per day I will probably append a letter to the day: [DAY 01b] I did not contemplate this happening.
- No forced punishments for skipped days but I'll try to compensate with two runs.

Final notes:
I was fucking losing it, not because sub 40 I was just losing it in general.

Today I had to renew my health license because if I didn't I wouldn't get paid at work. That means I had to skip breakfast because I was required 6 hours of fasting, and I DO NOT function without at least a cup of tea or coffee in the morning.

The whole day I was feeling groggy. I did go to work right after that and having to extend my shift because of our monthly meeting did not help...

On the plus side:
-I rember how to switch to hands when dropping the welder 😁 (thanks @backfire3017 for the guide over at speedrun.com) Now cooling the welder instantly is actually viable and it seems it's more of a time save than I initially thought it was.
-Shorter shift tomorrow because today's was longer, early run guaranteed!
-Friday is independence day so no work, early run guaranteed and maybe multiple runs? 👀

Now onto the actual notes:
Yeah so I don't know what to think anymore, I played my worst today and look at what happened! Do I even have a strategy or route anymore???

Also I guess I didn't actually dispense 10 buckets because it was apparent sooner than normal that I under dispensed, hence me typing in chat. I can't basic math when tired I guess.

Also the hell was with the bin over at gore pit? I could of sworn I dropped the arm before that shenanigan but when I checked it wasn't there?

Some other cursed things and hauntings happened that I forgor 💀

Anyways hopefully I can sit back and study my own runs so far tomorrow (I haven't yet). Get to figuring out why I got a massive save despite intentionally throwing the run multiple times. I must be juggling buckets too much or something since that is definitely a negative pattern in these runs.
